Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, and Mashimoto Kishimoto does. I own Kumiko, Natsumi, Kai, and Dai. (A/N: There will be mention of those last two in this chapter, and way later they would show up.)

Recap:

"I have to tell you something. I wanted to see how you were settling in first, but.... I am going to train to become a jounin, so I would have to leave here tomorrow and can only come back in two years. Okay?"

"Okay." I said sadly. Why couldn't she stay longer? But she wanted to become a jounin, and I wasn't going to stop her. I yawned while thinking this.

"Hmm..., you seem tired. Why don't you go back to sleep, and meet me at the village gates at 8 am tomorrow?"

"Okay." I said. Then, I went home, waving goodbye, and fell asleep. I was so tired... zzzz.

Chapter Four- An Unexpected Death

***The next day***

I woke up at 7:30am, and quickly got ready, then ran to the gates at exactly 8am. Natsumi grinned at me, and said, "Well, you were almost late."

I fired back, "Hey, I didn't have a alarm clock yet! I forgot!"

"Whoa, getting aggressive there aren't we?" she laughed as she messed up my hair. I hate when she does that!

"Well, see you in two years!" I said as I hugged her very tightly.

"You too, Kumiko-chan. You better pass the genin exam when I come back!"

"Oh, you know I will, if the teachers are anything like from the Sand! The tests are simply too easy for me!"

Natsumi laughed as I boasted, before saying, "Goodbye!" She broke from my embrace, and started walking away.

I watched her go, waving and shouting, and went home only when she was gone from my sight. The entrance guards looked at me like I was hyperactive. I was wearing a black cloak with blue swirls, and covered my head with the hood of it when I noticed a few people were pointing and staring at me. I suddenly felt lonely, and ran all the way back. In reality, I was hiding my sadness with a fake happy facade, but because I felt that Natsumi would be upset. I unpacked some more, and thought about my family all day as cleaned up stuff and such. Afterwards, I was bored. I looked at the scroll, the Prophecy, and tried to figure it out.
