I stopped in front of the club. From this small distance, I could see him putting his head on the desk and shivering. I held the doorknob but I didn't dare to push it. Maybe because I knew that he was looking for Sooah instead of me.
I'm afraid my existence around will turn his expectation down.
"Hyeyoon, why are you here?" I turned to my left, Sooah was heading here with Mark. She was like an angel coming at the right time.
"Sooah, Taeyong is sick. Can you look after him?" Just like that, I lost to Sooah. That easy, she won over me. She deserved to be by Taeyong's side.
I release the grip of the doorknob and walked away, leaving him to her. It was raining so I took a cab to go back home. I cleaned the house so there won't be any dirt when he gets home later.
After washing the clothes, I brought the basket of washed clothes to the balcony and started hanging on to dry them. The bell then rang, I finished hanging on some more before going to the door.
I opened the door, Taeyong and Sooah were standing right in front of me. He looked better than just now, Sooah took a good care of him. "Come in." I avoided making an eye contact with him. I had no idea why Sooah was coming in too, I thought she was just sending Taeyong home.
"We're working on a group project, I hope that I'm not bothering you." Sooah put her bag on the the coffee table in the living room.
"No, not at all."
I went to the kitchen and took out the pan from the cabinet. I was craving for pancakes. Maybe I could serve some for them too.
I had my phone standing on my left so I could double check the recipe of making the pancakes.
I was boiling the water to make a hot coffee for them. That's a manner house's owner should do to their guests. Since Taeyong was busy, I'll do it on his behalf.
After turning off the stove, I prepared a teapot and poured the hot boiling water inside.
"Taeyongie, you did this part wrong." Sooah's laugh caught my attention. I was looking at them fooling around with each other at the living room.
They matched each other well, I could see a future in their eyes. Taeyong then turned to me, his eyes turned widened.
"Hey, Hyeyoon! Your hand!" He ran towards me.
I was shocked that I didn't notice myself pouring the water on my left hand. I just, didn't feel hot at all. Not until he made me realize that my hand was burning.
I put the kettle aside and shake my left hand. It turned red, just that fast.
Taeyong grabbed my wrist and brought me to the sink. He let the water wetting my burning hand.
Why didn't I realize that my hand was burning? Is it because my heart hurts more than this burning hand?
"Hyeyoon, are you okay?" Sooah didn't come any closer to me. Instead, she was checking on my condition by just shouting from the living room.
It was more surprising that Taeyong ran towards me. He had that worried look on his face, he was really closed to me.
His hand softly rubbing mine, he was focusing on treating my hand but I couldn't take my eyes off of him at all. "You look a bit distracted today."
My hand was slowly running away from his grip. I hid my hand and looked at him. "Continue your work with Sooah. S-she's waiting."
He took a glance at the living room before looking back at me. "You're craving for pancakes?" I was sure that he peeked on my phone screen.
