"A few of my scouts have reported a spike in Hive activity on the moon, and thanks to two missing guardians," Cayde's eyes flick to Ikora for a split second. "We know that they're even active on the Dreadnaught too. Aside from that, We are in the dark about what they're up to."

"I see..." Zavala looks the Warlock Vanguard. "Ikora, have you heard from Eris on the subject?"

"I received a message for her. She said she would be here to report any findings." Ikora responds.

Just then, Eris Morn barges into the room. She looks as if she's been attacked a wolf. A large wolf at that. Her bleeding right arm, large gash on her chest, and the huge bite mark on her shoulder say otherwise.

"Eris?!" Concern leaking from their voices.

She stumbles forward before, almost, collapsing into Cayde's arms.

"Easy, easy. I got you." He says.

Eris' consciousness wavers before slipping from her grasp.

[. . .]

Eris begins to regain consciousness. Her eyes flutter open and she sits up, wincing from gash. She makes the assumption that she's in a hospital. Bloodied bandage wraps on her chest give some semblance of cover.. The Blind Clutch soon comes to her mind.

"Eris, if you're lookin' for the rock. It's right here." Cayde says, holding the 'rock'.

"Then it'd be best for you to hand it over." Eris voices with hostility

"Take it easy Eris. Don't want you going on a... blind rage!" He jokes, tossing over the 'rock'.

Eris groans in annoyance at his joke. It wasn't something she needed right now.

"Anyway, can you tell me what attacked you up on Luna?" He asks.

Eris remembers it all too well.

"It was like one of Saladin's wolves. But it's fur was as black as the void between stars, and Its skull seemed to sit outside of its head. It stood upon two legs, and had claws that were about the length of my forearm. Blood red eyes had stared at me like I was nothing but a piece of meat to devour." Eris describes. "I had barely managed to escape by the skin of my teeth."

"So, the Hive have created new monsters. Alright. Anything else to share Eris?" Cayde asks.

"That is all. Now leave." Eris commands.

Cayde leaves without word. Eris sighs then closes her eyes and lays back; quickly drifting off to sleep.

Sudden images of someone fighting against the Hive, and those mysterious beasts, flash rapidly before her eyes. Finishing with this mystery man limping out of the Scarlet Keep. A woman dressed in black replaces the last sight.

"He must be brought to the Last City." She tells Eris. "You can be the one to do it. Go."

Elsewhere...

It hurts. Whatever they hit me with has stopped my wounds from heal. Guess they had a plan for when I would attempt to escape. But I wish it hadn't suppressed my light. Man, this hurts like hell...

He drops to his knees and takes off his helm. Spitting up blood onto his chestplate. He takes his hand away from the large wound in his stomach. The bullet and his gloved hand are caked in blood. He lets out a labored sigh and looks at his Guardian Angel.

He puts the slug shotgun on his back and continues on. His mind and vision blur and, suddenly, Y/N finds himself... outside the Scarlet Keep. He pushes forward, ignoring everything around him. However, a bright light gains his attention and the loud roar of engines overhead give a breath of hope for the Risen Lightbearer.

The last bit of his strength dwindles, and he falls to the ground.

[. . .]

Y/N slowly wakes from his, well-needed, sleep. The person that brought him here stands up, and approaches the side of the hospital bed.

"How do you feel?" She asks.

"I feel... odd." He says. "Do you know what they hit me with?"

"It was a Devourer Bullet." She says. "Thankfully it didn't drain you of your light. Which is probably getting a refill from the Traveler."

"Ok... where am I?" He asks. "Besides in a hospital."

"Oh, you're in the Last Safe City on Earth." She answers.

Till next time...
