Two more heroes died on the same day and the people were getting terrified. Musutafu enforced curfew and pro heroes patrolled the streets late night, but those patrolling at night just made Izuku's job easier. The police were baffled. There was evidence that the late heroes resisted before they got killed and there were leftover vines.
'Was I wrong? The culprit doesn't have a knife quirk, but a vine one? Then... why didn't they use it earlier? Why did those vines appear when the culprit started killing multiple targets?' the investigator thought.
Investigator Edo was a 35-year-old man with thick black hair and a clean face. He was in charge of the serial killer case. The case had recently got more and more attention and more heroes were getting involved. This situation wasn't at all like the Hero Killer. In recent cases, they found that even some villains fell victim to this murder.
"What's going on?" Edo said to himself. He was so in thought that he didn't even realize he bumped into someone.
It was a small boy with green hair and big eyes with freckles all over his cheeks.
"Sorry" Izuku apologized.
"No, it was my fault," Edo said as he apologized. He then walked away.
'A police officer, huh. Now that I think about it, there are more and more police officers appearing around here. There's a hero basically around every corner. It seems I'm gaining more attention. Should I be worried?' Izuku thought.
Meanwhile, a spiky blonde-haired man was staring at an old picture. It was a picture of him, a green-haired girl, and a buff black-haired boy. Despite the fact they were in different grades, Crystal Spike, Wild Ivy, and Chocho were all good friends. Now that they were gone, he was spurring with vicious rage. He promised himself that he would catch the murderer so his friends' deaths would no longer be in vain.
Crystal Spike exited his agency so he could start his patrol shift around Musutafu, hoping to find any clues or leads that could potentially lead him to the mystery murderer. He went to every alley and street that the murders happened. It was all too random. The places were all over the place.
'Does the culprit have a means of transportation? A motorcycle maybe? There were no clues of any type of tracks at the crime scenes so I guess that's out of the question. According to recent investigations, this person has a vine quirk. What if those vines were left to confuse us? That's too stupid...Agh! I'm getting nowhere!' Crystal Spike thought.
"Are you okay?" an unfamiliar voice asked from behind the blonde hero.
He turned around and there was a small green-haired boy with freckles behind him. He was wearing a black hoodie and sweatpants. For some reason, Crytal Spike immediately calmed down. It was like the aura this boy was emitting was a soothing drug.
"It's no problem, kid," he answered.
"If you need to talk to someone, I'm not that busy. You seem like you're having a hard time." the boy said, leaning against the alley wall.
'Well, he seems innocent anyways. I guess I could get some things off my' Crystal Spike thought.

They were sitting on a park bench in Musutafu drinking sweet tea in a can.
"It's just that...I want revenge, you know? It doesn't sound hero-like I know, but I don't want my friends' death to be in vain." Crystal Spike told him.
"I see. That's why you looked so aggravated earlier. You were trying to find leads, right?" the boy asked.
"Yeah. That's actually exactly right. I know that being strong is what makes a hero, but it still hurts. I don't regret becoming a hero, but sometimes I wish I could make these terrible feelings disappear." The hero said, holding his right hand over his heart.
