3. auditions and sets

BELLA

I left the audition room trembling, literally. My hands were shaking, but I felt so good. All I had to do was wait in a small lounge, reading and memorizing a scene from a script they gave us until my name got called up. Luckily, I remembered every line I needed to say, and it was kind of like a dialogue exchange with the director.

I think it went pretty good, it was kind of a dramatic scene, which meant I had to exaggerate a bit, but the director seemed to be pleased with the way I was responding. He told me he hoped to see me again soon. He probably said that to everyone, but it made me feel excited because I really had a good feeling about this.

As I walked out of the studios, I waited for a cab to pass by and called him to stop. I told him to take me to Universal Studios and he drove away. It wasn't that far away, so I didn't spend much money. The car stopped and I got out and stood next to a little safety gatehouse with some officers guarding the entrance.

"Hi, I'm here with Johnny Depp, for the Private Resort set." One of them grabbed a post-it next to his notebook and said, "Bella Jones?"

"Yes." I replied. 

"May I see some identification please?" I grabbed my bag and took my ID out of my wallet and handed it to him. He took a good look at it and gave it back.

"Welcome to Universal Studios, Miss Jones. You will be heading to Studio 4. Enter through here and you'll see a golf cart, it'll take you to the studio."

"Perfect, thank you officer." He nodded and opened the gate door for me, and I saw the golf cart  with a driver already waiting. I got in the back and he took off, heading to Studio 4. Everything was amazing, so well organized, and clean. Every studio we passed was like each a different world. I was in awe.

The cart stopped and the driver led me to the entrance and stayed with me until I saw Johnny. He was sitting in a makeup chair and he was getting his hair styled. He looked up and saw me walking towards him. He quickly stood up from his chair and ran over to where I was. He hugged me, almost picking me up, as if he hadn't seen me in forever. I started laughing and hugged him back.

"Someone definitely missed me," I chuckled, grinning as we pulled away, he didn't respond, but took my hand excitedly, walking me over to the hair and makeup station. He sat me down on the chair next to him and pulled the chair closer to his. He got back in his seat and the lady continued with his hair.

"How'd the audition go?" He asked as he sat back down. "Surprisingly, I think it went pretty well. The director seemed to like me, and I remembered every line." 

He smiled and said, "Told you you'd do amazing. Did they say when they would be calling back to say how'd it go?"

"2 days from now. I'm scared to death honestly." 

Johnny looked up at his hair and makeup artist and said, "What do you think Lisa? Do you think she'll get the part?" 

Lisa looked at me and studied me for a second, and then went back to Johnny. "You've definitely got the looks, the accent too. I'd need to see you acting, but I'm pretty sure you'll get it." 

Johnny smiled and looked over at me."See Bella? Listen to Lisa, she's worked in the industry for about 15 years now." 

I genuinely smiled at both of them and said, "I really hope you guys are right, this all looks like so much fun."

I looked over to where the filming was actually taking place and it was amazing. It was designed to look like a hotel and a pool, tons of actresses in tiny swimsuits, and rich looking characters.
