BELLA
I hid under the bed, trying to make myself as small as possible. He would find me any minute now, I knew it. I heard his footsteps getting closer and closer with each step he took. Then, the footsteps suddenly stopped, and I knew my hiding place had been discovered. I suddenly felt a pair of hands grasp around each of my ankles, and started pulling me from under the bed.
I shrieked and my left hand held on to the duvet that was hanging from the bed, no use though, he succeeded in pulling me from under the bed, and immediately began tickling me, knowing my greatest weakness.
"Johnny stop!!" I couldn't stop laughing and wiggling like a worm, trying to slide out from his arms so I could throw the flour I had kept in my right hand, from the pizza making 10 minutes ago.
"Never!!" He continued tickling me, making my eyes well up in tears from all the laughter. Knowing that I had no way of getting out from under him, I decided to use the flour I had been holding on to so dearly now. I threw the flour in his face, which landed on me as well, given how close we were. It covered his eyes, so he let go of me and sat up to wipe his face.
"You little-" He started but I shrieked and quickly ran out of the bedroom, laughing as I made my way into the kitchen, grabbing another handful in case he wanted to tickle me again. I started breathing heavily from running away and turned around.
I watched Johnny stand up and follow me into the kitchen and started walking in my direction. Before he could get any closer, I put my fist up in the air and yelled, "If you're thinking about doing anything again, I will throw another handful of flour. Your choice."
He looked defeated and threw himself back on the couch, particles of the flour flying everywhere. "I give up."
I smirked and put the flour back in its container. I washed my hands and walked over to him, getting a wet cloth so I could get some flour off his face.
I walked over to the couch and kneeled down on the floor. His eyes were closed, so he was a bit startled when I put the cold cloth on his face. "Are you tired old man?" I snickered and he playfully let out an exasperated sigh.
"I don't know which old man you're referring to." He closed his eyes again and relaxed while I started cleaning his face up.
"You, mister, are almost 30, I think that does make you kind of old." I laughed and sat crisscrossed on the floor, more comfy.
"I won't be 30 until another 4 years! Do your math Izzy."
When Johnny learned that my full name was Isabella, he sometimes called me Izzy. No one had ever called that before, so only Johnny could call me that. It felt weird when someone else did.
I succeeded in cleaning his face up, but when I got to his hairline, I knew it would be pretty impossible to take the flour out of his hair with a cloth.
"Alright Mr. Depp, your face is clean again, now the hair- I believe that will require a shower." I chuckled as I stood up and to wash the cloth in the sink.
He groaned and stood up, looking at himself in the doorway mirror, trying to shake the flour out. I started laughing as I watched him struggle.
"Not funny Bella." He muttered.
"It is!!" He started walking over to my bedroom and sat down on the edge of my bed.
"Now I'm gonna be late to pick up Mila."
"Yeah well, you started it by tickling me! I was just trying to make my dinner in peace." I responded while crossing my arms defensively over my chest, noticing how Johnny's gaze flickered downward for a brief second before darting back up.
I rose an eyebrow at this, and a faint blush crept up his neck while cracking a sheepish smile. "And how's your dinner working out for you?"
I looked back at the counter and groaned in response as I saw the rolled out dough with only a scoop of tomato sauce on top of it.
"Well since I am now delayed," he sarcastically stated, "I will take a quick shower at my place and be right back to see if your apartment hasn't burned down or something." He laughed as he started making his way out.
"Haha very funny Johnny." He grinned at me and said,
"It is!!" Totally mocking me. I glared at him as he walked out the door as he blew me a kiss. This guy was just too much to handle.
So quick recap on what has happened in the last five years. I got the role of Desperate Hallucinations in 1984. I worked with some famous actors, and the movie was surprisingly a hit, so I was immediately cast for another movie and have been in two by now.
Johnny had also gained a lot of fame with his Private Resort film, and now even more with 21 Jump Street, a show he's been filming for the last 2 years. Nightmare on Elm Street was already a hit so we were both already well-known in Hollywood. I mean, not as big as some actors were, but I believed we were getting there.
We haven't moved out from our condos that we started with, mostly because I guess having your best friend live literally next to you is quite the luxury. Plus, everything else was expensive, and we didn't want to waste the new money we had just made just yet.
We've both dated some people on and off, but never anything serious, until this month. Johnny has been going out with this Mila girl, who I haven't met, but Johnny was going to try to make things serious tonight, and then he was gonna bring her over to meet me.
To be honest, I was nervous, I mean I really wanted to get along with her so there would be no problems, so I just hoped for the best. He was gonna go out for dinner with her, so that's why I was making pizza for myself. I wanted to make it from scratch so I wouldn't get bored.
After I finished cleaning the flour that was spilled on my bedroom floor and a bit on the couch, I continued making the pizza. It only took me about 15 minutes for toppings, and then just when I put it in the oven, Johnny entered again, using the spare keys we gave each other about 4 years ago.
"So you haven't burned anything! What a miracle." He was all dressed up with a buttoned shirt and some nice jeans. "I have never burned anything except the cookies we-"
"What about the cake too? And the meat pies." he interrupted as he sat down on the stool in front of me.
"Yes, well I guess I'm just bad at calculating time?"
He laughed and stood up again. "So, how do I look? Is it too much or okay?" He looked nervous.
"Where are you going again?"
He closed his eyes as if remembering the name. "Oh! Uh 'Francesca's'."
I smiled and nodded approvingly. "Then it's perfect." He smiled and hugged me tightly. "Can't breathe Johnny," I breathed out.
"Oh, sorry love." I laughed as he pulled away, "If you need anything, just call my cellphone number."
"Of course I will, don't worry about me, Johnny. Have fun." I said as he started heading out the door.
"I'll be back later! Hopefully with good news." He called out as the door closed. Now this was gonna be a while.
