8. sunny day out

BELLA

After playing a round of poker (which I won of course), we decided to go out for lunch and go to the nearest park and hang out outdoors before I had to leave with Sarah and Courteney, and Johnny with Mila.

It was about 6:00 p.m and we were both laying on the grass, our heads laying on top of our jackets so we wouldn't get grass in our hair.

We were laying in a nice, comfortable silence, both of us with our eyes closed. After a while, Johnny spoke up. "Isn't it a bit warm for March?" 

I laughed and nodded. "You're right, it's usually a bit chilly in this time of the year. I guess we're getting summer a bit earlier."

"I love summer. I can't wait for it to be summer." He said.

"Me too, we all look prettier during the summer." Johnny laughed as I said this. "It's true! All tanned and sun-kissed. And happy too." 

"Oh, so you're not happy right now?" He asked teasingly.

"I am, but imagine being at the beach with the ocean and everything, that just makes me even happier." He looked at me and sat up.

"Let's go to the beach then." I laughed and swatted his arm playfully.

"I'm serious! It's only about a 15-minute walk from here!" He stood up excitedly and stretched his arms for me to grab them and stand up. I took them and he helped me up while I looked at him confusedly.

He grinned and started running with his hand in mine. I laughed and tried to keep up behind him.

"Johnny you're mad!" I breathed out as he kept running, dragging me behind him.

He looked at me and said, "It's a good thing that I am! If I wasn't it would be boring."

I chuckled and silently agreed with him. He slowed his pace down a bit, but we were walking faster than I would like to.

"Izzy look we're here!!" He started sprinting towards the beach like a little kid, me following shortly behind him so I could catch up to him. We both took our shoes off before we touched the sand, and ran off into the ocean, the familiar scent of the ocean drawing me in without even hesitating.

I was wearing a pair of denim shorts and a crop top so I was pretty comfortable, but Johnny was wearing jeans which was going to give him a bit of trouble.

I quickly ran to the ocean and sighed contently as I felt the water rise to my ankles. I looked back at Johnny to see him running and trying to take his shirt off at the same time. He rolled up his jeans a bit and got in with me, then continued running a bit deeper into the ocean.

"Come on, Bella come over here!" He shouted as he motioned for me to go deeper. I hesitantly nodded my head and started walking a bit further until the water reached my thighs. Johnny's jeans were completely soaked by now.

"You should've taken your pants off Johnny! They're soaked!" 

He gave me a cocky grin and said, "Oh so you wanted me to take my pants off?" I laughed and playfully swatted his chest. 

"You have a girlfriend Johnny, you can't joke like that anymore." 

He only laughed as I said this, a mischievous glint entered his eyes suddenly, and that could only mean one thing. "Johnny no-"
