BELLA
I immediately took a shower after I got home. Millions of thoughts running wild ever since. I couldn't stop thinking about that little moment. Were we really about to kiss? Or was it just my imagination?
Johnny probably would've stopped it. He had a girlfriend for christ's sake, but still, even if he didn't, it would be very unlikely that he would want to kiss me. That I would want to kiss him. He's my best friend. Has been for almost five years.
Of course nothing happened, and I'm actually glad that it didn't. We would both regret it afterwards, and all because it was in the heat of the moment. God, it would be so awkward.
I stepped out of the shower, going over to my closet to find something to wear. I decided on a pair of black leather pants, and a black tube top as well, with some high heels and a small bag.
It was about 8:00 p.m. right now, so I dressed and blow-dried my hair. I put a bit of makeup on, mostly just making my blue eyes pop with dark eyeshadow, but kept my lips more natural.
As I was putting my shoes on, the doorbell rang and I rushed to get it, knowing that it was probably Johnny saying goodbye. I quickly strapped my heels on and walked towards the door, opening it to see Johnny fidgeting with the rings on his fingers, but looked up at the sound and widened his eyes momentarily.
"Wow. You look beautiful." Was the first thing Johnny said as his eyes traced every single inch of me from my forehead to my heels.
I laughed nervously and shook him off. God Bella stop acting awkward. It's Johnny. "You clean up nicely as well. Are you leaving?"
"Yeah, I'm on my way out, I just wanted to let you know in case you came looking for me." He still looked kind of dazed, which made me laugh.
"Don't worry I don't think I'll need you anymore."
He smiled and kissed my cheek sweetly, like he always did, before leaving. "Give me a call when you're home."
"I will," I replied sweetly.
He got in the elevator and shouted, "Have fun, Bella! Not too much though."
I laughed and shook my head. "You too Johnny, bye!"
I saw the elevator doors closing on him, so I closed my door. I grabbed a water bottle and laid down on my couch, listening to Fleetwood Mac on my record player while I waited for Sarah and Courteney.
After about 40 minutes of almost falling asleep on the couch, I heard a car honk outside. I looked out my window and saw Courteney with her head out of the cab's window, waving her hand frantically. I smiled and quickly took the elevator down.
I left the building and got in the cab, where both Sarah and Courteney were already waiting. We all squealed as I got in the car with them, all of us attacking each other with huge hugs.
Our greetings were interrupted by an angry-sounding taxi driver, who said "Ladies! You still haven't told me where to go."
I giggled and nudged Sarah's shoulder next to me, so she would be the one to speak. "Yes, I'm sorry sir, we'll be going to the restaurant Republique. It's downtown."
The driver nodded and turned the radio up. We all burst out laughing and Courteney was the first to speak up.
"So Bella, a little birdie told us you and Johnny are getting pretty comfortable. You guys finally dating?" Sarah burst out laughing and playfully slapped Courteney's arm. I laughed and scoffed, looking at them in shock.
