Chapter 16

When Tris woke me up I heard a cannon. We both wondered who it was. Zeke? The girl from 1? The girlf from 5? The day went really peaceful until we heard somebody at the entry of the cave. We couldn't see who it was because the braided benches were like a lot. When the person entered the cave we saw who it was. The girl from 1... She started attacking Tris with a knife. She hit Tris in her stomach. There was a freaking knife in her stomach. We saw a lot of blood. Then the girl attacked me. In the time the girl attacked Tris I grabbed my axe. I couldn't do something for Tris, but to have the girl out of the cave and give Tris the space she needed. While I fought with the girl I heard Tris screaming a lot. The last time was one of the loudest ones. That was the moment I knew I had to go to her. I punched the girl outside. Got rid of her by throwing her passed out body in the bushes 100 meters further. Grabbed her backpack and ran to Tris. The knife was out of her stomach, the wound was clean she said, she had a bandage around it, but the bandage was already wet from the blood. I watched in the bag or there was something to make the blood less. When the bottle was empty the wound was still bleeding, but less. We put the bandage again on her wound. We cleaned it a bit with the water. 

Suddenly we heard a voice, probably from the game maker: ''Hello tributes. You're all in the top 4! You're doing great. We will have a reward for all of you! at 5:00 PM at the feast at the cornucopia, there will be 4 backpacks. 1 for each district. Because district 10 still have both the bag for the boy will be blue and the one of the girl pink. The other backpacks will be black. All of them have their district number on it. The backpacks will include something you need a lot right now! If your ally isn't from your own district feel free to grab her/his backpack. IF you grab the backpack that isn't for you or you grab 2 backpacks when you're not allowed to, you will get punished! Good luck tributes and may the odds be in your favour!'' Tris and I both know what included her bag. I needed to go to the feast, but I don't want to leave Tris alone. What if another tribute comes into the cave? Tris can barely stand on her own! Tris said: ''You can go, every tribute will be there at the feast. I can handle this. Just go.'' I agreed. Every tribute would go to that feast. At 4:30 PM I left the cave and went to the feast. After running half an hour I almost arrived at the cornucopia when I heard the same voice saying: '' Dear tributes, It's 5:00 PM the backpacks are ready to get taken. Good luck!'' The backpacks were at the cornucopia. I arrived 5 minutes later there. No backpack was grabbed yet. I decided to stay another 5 minutes after the rocks I was standing. No tribute came. I decided to run no one came. No one. When I came on my way back I saw a tribute. What had that girl from 1 with Tris and me!? I had to fight with her AGAIN. She seemed very exhausted. She didn't want to fight... Why? She said: "Okay, I'm finished with fighting with you or that girl from 10. You win every time by punching me and I'll pass out. I'll let you go.'' I thanked her and ran with the 2 backpacks back to Tris. I kind of wondered what would be in my bag, because I didn't really need anything at the moment. I took a break and watched fast what it included. It included a lot of food and in a side pocket, I saw... A ring... why? why would I need this? Was it meant for Tris? Would this be the answer to let us win both? I put the ring back in the bag and ran back to the cave where Tris waited on me. 

When I arrived at the cave we watched what included her bag. Of course the medicine. This one was a lot more. I dripped really carefully the medicine on the wound. She said that this one pricked more. I saw it on her face. The bleeding stopped after 7 drips. The wound was still there but wasn't bleeding any more. We put new bandage that was in her bag. Just for safety. When we were finished Tris kissed me out of happiness. Then we opened my bag and I've seen her face when we opened the bag together. I saw food when I looked very fast at the cornucopia, but I didn't see what the food was. We found 10 Stroopwafels, pancakes but I think these are for dinner because these were thinner and bigger than we were used to and some bread. This was like a feast meal or something! I think part of this was sponsored. Each of us ate 2,5 stroopwafel and some pancakes and some bread. It fell like it was already 8:00 PM but we didn't hear the anthem. We put the leftover food in the backpack. Grabbed the blanket and sat at the entry of the cave.

When Tris and I talked a bit I had to ask:'' Tris. You are the best girl I've ever meet. I love you so much. I... I really hope we can be a couple now. Like for real. You're the girl I want to spend my life with. You're my dreamgirl. What do you say?'' I had to ask her this. I waited for an answer she answered with: '' Yes! It's gonna be kind of weird in the arena, but yes!!'' Then I had the biggest smile on my face in like ever. We talked further like nothing that special happened. We both knew this was something like big. I didn't even really think what my parents would think: me having a girlfriend. I didn't really care what my parents would think. I was more curious to know what Peter and his parents would think. I think his parents would be really happy but would wonder how I would keep this relation when we're both from other districts. Peter would be really happy and really wanted to meet Tris. At 8:00 PM we heard the anthem. We saw the faces: the girl from 8, the girl from 1 and... Oh my.. Zeke. Zeke was dead... I didn't really know how to feel because I didn't really like Zeke like what he did to Tris the other day, but he still didn't really deserve to die. I wondered when he died. Like or he died during the feast or this morning. I think during the feast. Tris asked or I saw Zeke die. I didn't because when I was at the cornucopia I was the first one with the girl from 1. Zeke's bag was still there at that moment. Tris and I knew at this moment that we were still with 3, the girl from 1, Tris and me... I looked at our stock. We didn't have anything to drink anymore. Tomorrow we have to go back to the lake to fill our bottles. When It was around 3:30 AM I woke Tris so I could sleep a bit. I let her sleep more than me because it was a tough evening for her. I took the blanket and gave her the hoodie then I fell asleep quite fast...
