You learned to run from what you feel, and that's why you have nightmares. To deny is to invite madness. To accept is to control.

KEEFE
~

Dreams usually weren't this bad.

This dream, though, was worse than a nightmare.

He couldn't make out a lot.
There was darkness.
And screams.
A girl with blonde hair was standing next to him.

And they watched the same scene.
Over and over.
A man and his daughter.
And the sound of a bus coming to a terrorizing crash.

Every time, she tried to stop it.

But it was too late.
They were gone.

It took Keefe a few minutes to realize that the dream wasn't his.
He was awake, at his desk, drawing.
Another image pricked his consciousness; it was a very familiar room at night, in a bed, with silk curtains.
Sophie's room.
She must've transmitted the nightmare to him by accident.

He sighed, glancing over at his mostly-packed bag.
He was still contemplating bringing his art supplies.
Instead, he slipped in just his drawing journal, a pen, and another art project he'd been working on.

A quick glance in the mirror told him two things; one, he was still shirtless; and two, his hair was still in its artful style.
So he was pretty much ready to go.
He stepped up to the moonlight, wheeling his bag behind him.

And then Keefe held up his crystal and glittered away.
