Chapter 8 ~ Graduation Day

Laura's Pov

I sat on the bed next to Cam and shook him a little bit to wake him up. He sat up and immediately wrapped his arms around me.

"Oh my baby girl. You're okay. I was so worried about you." "I'm okay Cam."

"What happened?" I shook my head and said, "I'll tell you later tonight. I need to get ready for graduation."

"Do you still want to go on our date?" "Of course Cam."

I kissed him and got off the bed. "I'm gonna go take a shower. Would you mind staying here? Just in case I need you?" "Of course. I'll be right here. If you need me just scream."

I nodded and went in the bathroom. I started the shower and got undressed. God. My body is so bruised. I can't believe he did this to me. I sighed and got in the shower. I washed my hair and body and then I shaved.

After I was done, I got out and wrapped a towel around my body. I went back in my room and Cam said, "Everything go okay?" I nodded and sat on the bed.

"What's wrong?" I laid my head on his chest and said, "He destroyed me Cam."

"What do you mean?" "Lane. He's my ex."

"I'm confused." "Well when I was still with Lane, he was pretty abusive. But Jack was able to get me out of that relationship and away from Lane. But before that happened, me and Lane were at his house by ourselves. And um. He um. He tried to rape me. But before he could, his brothers came in and pulled him off of me."

"Baby girl." "He took me yesterday. He drove to a hotel and he raped me. And then he beat me. After all of that he drove me back here and threw me out of the car. I crawled in the house and that's when Jack found me."

He wrapped his arms around me and said, "I'm so sorry this happened. Honestly. If you don't want to go on the date tonight, I completely understand." "No Cam. I want to. I really need this."

He kissed the top of my head and said, "It's a date." Jack came in the room and said, "You need to leave in about an hour, baby sister."

"Okay." He smiled at me and went back downstairs. Cam said, "I'll leave you to get ready."

"Stay up here. Please." "Okay. I'll stay up here."

I smiled at him and went over to my vanity. I did my makeup and then dried my hair. I went over to my closet and put on my black dress. I slid on my wedges and sat on the bed next to Cam.

"You look beautiful baby." "Thank you Babe."

He kissed the top of my head and said, "I'm gonna go get dressed. Why don't you go eat something and I'll meet you downstairs." I nodded and went downstairs.

I went in the kitchen and grabbed an apple. G came in and wrapped his arms around me.

"I'm so glad you're okay." "Me too G."

"I shouldn't have let you out of my sight." "This isn't your fault. Don't blame yourself."

"It's hard not to. Me and J are always worried about you." "I'm okay. Lane's in jail. I'm gonna be fine."

He kissed the top of my head and said, "I love you. And I know today is gonna be hard. If you need to walk out, do it. They'll understand." "If I'm gonna do it at all, it'll be after I already have my diploma."

"Okay. I understand that." Cam came in the kitchen and said, "You ready to go babe?"

"Yeah. Let me get my cap and gown." He nodded and I got it out of the hall closet.
