Chapter 28 ~ Back in the States

Laura's Pov

*2 weeks later*

Well, we're back in Cali after spending two amazing weeks in Australia. I'm so excited to finally see my baby girl. Me and Jack are currently on the drive back from the airport. He looked over at me and said, "You okay baby?"

"Yeah. Just excited to see Kindall." "I am too baby girl. But this traffic is not on our side."

"It's L.A. traffic. I'm not surprised one bit." "I'm just ready to get home. I know how much you wanna see Kindall."

"Babe. It's okay. Just calm down. We'll get home when we get home." "Okay. I'm sorry."

Soon we were pulling in the driveway. Jack said, "I'll get the stuff babe. You just go see Baby K."

I kissed him and said, "Thank you baby." I went inside and took Kindall from JJ.

"Welcome home baby sister." "Hi bubba. How's my baby girl been?"

"She's been good. But she hasn't been feeling well today." "Well did you take her temperature?"

"Yes Laura. I'm not dumb. Her temperature was normal. It's probably just a cold." "Is she eating?"

"She had some of her bottle but she didn't finish it. And I tried to feed her one of the baby foods. But she wouldn't eat it." "Did she sleep okay last night?"

"Yeah. She only woke up once." "Have her poops been normal?"

"I don't know how to answer that." "Well thanks for taking care of her JJ. I can take it from here."

"You sure? I can watch her for a little bit if you and G are jet lagged." "It's fine JJ. Why don't you call Sarah and plan a date night for the two of you?"

"You sure you and G will be good?" "Yeah JJ. We'll be fine. Just go have a nice night with Sarah."

"Fine. But don't hesitate to call if you need anything." I rolled my eyes and said, "JJ. She's my baby. I've got this."

"Okay. Okay. Sorry." Jack came over to me and said, "Everything's upstairs. We can unpack later. How about a little family nap."

"I think that's a good idea. Baby K isn't feeling good so she's gonna need all the sleep she can get." He took her from me and said, "Maybe she just missed her mommy and daddy."

"That's possible." "Alright nap time."

We went up to Kindall's room and Jack put her in her crib. As soon as he put her down she started crying. I picked her up and said, "Yeah. That's not gonna work with her. She's been away from us too long. I think she's scared we're gonna leave again." "We can't coddle her."

"We won't everyday. But she doesn't feel well and she hasn't seen us in two weeks. I think it would be more than okay for her to sleep in bed with us." "Alright babe."

"I'm gonna get her changed and then I'll be in, okay?" "Alright babe."

He kissed the top of my head and went in our room. I laid Kindall on the changing table and changed her diaper. I put her in a fresh onesie and swaddled her. I picked her up and went in me and Jack's room.

Jack said, "Does she still feel warm?" "No. Not really."

"Alright. Let's just all take a nice family nap." "Sounds like a plan to me."

We laid on the bed and put Kindall between us. Jack put on a movie and soon we all fell asleep. I woke up a few hours later to Kindall crying. I picked her up and took her downstairs. I made her a bottle and fed her. After she finished her bottle I burped her and went back upstairs.
