Chapter 9 ~ Why Is This Happening to Me?

Laura's Pov

*1 month later*

So. I haven't been feeling all that great recently and that worries me. I've been nauseous and really just not feeling myself. I talked to Hayden and he's gonna take me to the doctor today. I'm just really hoping that what I'm thinking isn't true.

I woke up at around 9 and took a quick shower. I got dressed and brushed my hair out. I grabbed my phone and went downstairs. Jack was down there with G.

Jack said, "Where are you going so early?" "Hayden's. We haven't hung out in a while."

"Alright be safe. I love you." "I love you too Bubs."

Then I left. I walked down to Hayden's house and went inside. "You ready to go?"

"Ready as I'll ever be." "Everything will be okay."

I nodded and we went out to the car. Hayden drove me to the doctor and we went inside. I signed in and we went the waiting area. He grabbed my hand and said, "I know this is a stupid question. But if you are pregnant, are you going to keep it?"

I shrugged and said, "I mean. I'm against abortion. But. Then again. I'm okay with women who get abortions when the cause of the pregnancy was rape or something along those lines." "So? Is that a yes or no?"

"It's an I don't know. I'll need to talk to Jack and Cam about it. Oh my gosh. Cam. How am I going to break any of this to him?" "Okay. Calm down. You don't even know if you're pregnant yet."

I nodded and the doctor called for me. Hayden said, "Do you want me to come?"

I nodded and we both went back. The doctor did the usual check up stuff and said, "So. Ms. Johnson. What brings you in today?"

"Well. Um. I haven't been feeling all that great these past few weeks. I've been really nauseous and just not really feeling myself." "Well. If you wouldn't mind. I would like to do a urine test and an ultrasound."

I nodded and he handed me a cup. I did what I had to do and the doctor went to check it out. He came back in and set up the ultrasound machine.

"If I could just have you lay down and lift up your shirt." I did as told and Hayden came over and held my hand.

The doctor said, "This gel might be a little cold." I nodded and he put it on my stomach. He put the wand on my stomach and started to move it around.

"Okay. Just as I suspected. Congratulations Ms. Johnson. You're pregnant." "Really?"

"Yes. You seem to be about 4 weeks along." I looked over at Hayden and the doctor said, "I guess technically congratulations is due to both of you."

"No. Um actually this isn't the father. This is just my best friend." H"My apologies."

Hayden said, "Yeah. The real father is a dickhead who's in jail now." I hit him and said, "Calm down."

"If you would like, I can let you hear the heartbeat." "Um. Okay."

He turned the sound on and I heard the most beautiful noise ever. That was my baby's heartbeat.

"I can print out a few pictures of your sonogram, if you'd like." I nodded and he said, "I will be right back."

He left and I cleaned off my stomach. Hayden said, "You're gonna keep it."

"I can't abort it Hayden. It's part of me." "I'm not arguing with you. I know this is what you want. And I'll support you."

I hugged him and said, "Thank you Fluffy." Soon the doctor came back in and handed me the sonograms.
