Chapter 11 ~ Gender Day

Laura's Pov

*3 months later*

So. I'm officially four months now. Which is really exciting. I've gotten through my first trimester. Also exciting. Today is the day I get to find out the gender. I'm fine with whatever gender. But of course the guys are placing bets.

I ended up telling everyone, including Cam, about a week after I found out. Everyone was kind of excited. Me and Cam are still not exactly friends. But we're civil for the guys' sake.

Something else that's happened is things with me and G have changed from being like brother and sister to being a little more coupley. Which is really weird to me. The weirdest part is that Jack's okay with it. Me and G aren't exactly official yet. But we're getting there.

I woke up at 8 and took a quick shower. I got out and got dressed. Then I grabbed my phone and went downstairs. Only to be greeted by literally all of the guys.

"Why are you all here?" Hayes said, "We wanna know the gender."

"My appointment isn't until 11." They all sighed and G came over to me. "Good morning beautiful."

"Good morning." He leaned down to my belly and said, "Good morning peanut."

"Shh. She's sleeping. She's finally not kicking." "Okay. I'll let her sleep."

"So you agree that it's a her?" "I think it's whatever you think it is."

I smiled at him and went in the kitchen. I started to make myself some breakfast. Once I was done I sat at the counter and ate. I cleaned up my dishes and went in the living room with the guys.

I sat on G's lap and he put his hand on my stomach. I could literally feel Cam staring. He did this to himself. I don't feel sorry. Jack said, "Laura. You think you're gonna have a boy, right?"

"I think it's a girl." "But Lane only has brothers."

"Okay. And?" "You're more likely to have a boy."

"I think it's a girl. You're not changing my mind." "Fine. Be that way."

"I will." Before I knew it, it was time to go to my appointment.

I got off of G's lap and put on my shoes. G stood up and said, "You ready to find out the gender?" "Ready as I'll ever be."

We said bye to the guys and then we drove to the doctor. We went in and signed in. We sat in the waiting area and soon my doctor called us back. She weighed me and all of that stuff and said, "So Laura. You're officially 17 weeks. How have you been feeling?"

"Honestly. Pretty good. Jack and my brother have been taking really good care of me. I'm just glad to be done with the morning sickness." "Well. Although you're out of the first trimester, morning sickness will still be there. Just not as frequent."

I nodded. She said, "So are you two ready to find out the gender?" Me and G both nodded.

He held my hand and the doctor squirted the gel on my stomach. She put the wand on my stomach and started looking for the baby. "Well. Laura. It seems that you are having a little girl."

"Really? It's a girl?" "Yes. And she looks perfectly healthy."

She turned the screen so me and G could see it, and turned up the volume so we could hear the heartbeat. G said, "Looks like you were right all along baby. Our peanut is a girl."

Dr.Shelly said, "Mother's intuition is almost never wrong. So. I will go print out a few copies of the sonogram. Did you have any questions for me?" "Um. I did have one. I was actually wondering what the chances of me delivering early were."

"Well. Since you're younger, it is possible. But I wouldn't worry about that. Your baby seems perfectly healthy and I'm sure you'll be able to carry her full term." I smiled at her and said, "Thank you Dr.Shelly."

She nodded and walked out to get our sonogram. I wiped off my stomach and G said, "I can't believe you're gonna have a little princess."

"I know. It's crazy. I can't believe it either." "She's gonna be gorgeous. Oh my gosh! I can't wait to tell my mom that you're having a girl! Oh my gosh! I can't wait to help you decorate the nursery. I told you I was going to spoil this baby."

"Babe. Calm down." "I'm just so excited."

"I know baby. But you're going crazy." "I'm sorry."

I kissed him and said, "You're okay." Dr.Shelly came in and handed me the sonograms. "Remember. If you need anything or have any questions, don't be afraid to call me."

"Thank you Dr.Shelly." She smiled at me and left. G said, "You ready to go home and tell the guys?" I nodded.

We checked out and made my next appointment. We went out to the car and drove back to the house. I walked in the house and all heads turned towards me. Jack said, "It's a boy, right?"

"Nope. It's a girl." Most of the guys sighed and a few of them cheered. I guess only a few guessed girl. Jack said, "It's not that we're not excited that it's a girl. We were just excited to have a little man who we could teach to be just like us."

"Y'all are stupid." G said, "Wow."

"Not you. Just them." "Okay."

G sat on the couch and I sat on his lap. Jack said, "Let me see the sonogram." I handed it to him and he said, "Aww. Look at my little princess niece."

"I love how she's gone from nugget and peanut to princess in a matter of minutes." "Well. She's gonna be my little princess. My niece will be a princess and there's no question about it."

"I still wanna call her my little nugget." "She's a princess. Not a nugget."

"She's my baby. I'll call her what a want." "Fine."

G put his hand on my stomach and she kicked it. I said, "Oh yay. She's awake."

"It's only five more months." "I just want to hold her now."

"I know. But you have to wait." She kicked his hand again and he said, "She's very excited today."

"I think she's excited that everyone is calling her by her proper gender now." "You're probably right."

Then Hayden came in the door and said, "So. I'm having a niece right?" "Yes Hayden. You're having a niece."

"Yes! I'm so excited." He came over and put his hand on my bump.

"Cmon baby girl. Kick for uncle Hayden." She kicked his hand and he said, "She loves me."

"Sure she does Hayden." "You are sassy today."

"Am not." "Yeah. Okay."

I rolled my eyes and laid my head on G's shoulder. "You sleepy baby?" I

"Just a little bit." "Do you wanna go take a nap?" I shook my head.

Hayden said, "She will never say yes to a nap, but she'll fall asleep anyways." "Shut up Hayden."

"I'm not wrong. You're literally half asleep right now." G said, "I'm gonna go put her in her bed."

He stood up and took me upstairs. He laid me on the bed and said, "Get some sleep." I grabbed his hand and said, "No. Stay."

He sighed and laid on the bed next to me. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head. I was almost asleep when I heard him say, "I can't wait until you're officially mine." I smiled at that and fell asleep.
