Chapter 17 ~ Wedding Planning

Laura's Pov

We walked inside and JJ said, "Welcome home guys." Jack set Kindall's carrier down and I took her out. JJ said hi to Katherine and Jack showed her up to the guest room.

I put Kindall in her swing and sat on the couch next to JJ. "So how were things?"

"Good. I know Jack's missed his mom. So I'm glad they're getting time to hang out for a little bit." "Good."

"That gives you more time to hang out with your favorite baby sister and your favorite niece." "You're my only baby sister."

Jack came back downstairs and said, "My moms getting settled in. She'll be down in a little bit." I nodded and he sat next to me.

He wrapped his arm around me and kissed the top of my head. "My gorgeous fiancé."

"My handsome fiancé." "Mom's really excited to help you plan the wedding while she's here."

"I'm glad. Because I really need the help." "I'm surprised you don't have things planned already."

"I never really figured I would get married." "What do you mean?"

"I just never thought I would find the guy I wanted to marry. So I just kind of pushed the thought of marriage to the back of my mind. I didn't feel the need to plan it." "You really thought you wouldn't ever get married?"

"Well. I mean. I just figured I would be single for most of my life. But don't get me wrong. I know that you're the guy I'm meant to marry." He kissed me and said, "I love you."

"I love you too." Katherine came downstairs and said, "Alright Guys! So we have a lot to do while I'm here. We have a wedding to plan."

JJ said, "I'll stay here and watch baby girl. You guys go do whatever you need to do." I said, "What is it that we need to do exactly?"

Katherine said, "Well. You need to pick a date and then a venue. Then we have to talk about the colors you want. Then we need to decide who's coming to the wedding. And we have to talk about the wedding parties. Then we need to get Jack his tux and the groomsmen need to get their tuxes too. Then we need to look for Laura's dress and the bridesmaid dresses. And we'll have to decide how we wanna do the reception." Jack said, "Mom. Slow down."

"I'm sorry honey. But there's a lot that goes into planning a wedding. I can take it slower. We'll start with when you guys wanna do it." I looked at Jack and he said, "When do you wanna do it baby?"

I said, "Well. It's February now. So um. Maybe this summer. Or is that too soon?" Katherine said, "It depends on what type of ceremony and all of that you guys want."

"Well. I mean. I don't think it's gonna be a huge thing. So I don't see why we couldn't do it here." Jack said, "I think doing it here is a good idea."

Katherine said, "The ceremony and the reception?" "I mean, why not? The backyard is huge."

"But you have the pool. Maybe we do the reception here and find somewhere else to do the ceremony?" "Okay. Well. What about doing the ceremony in a barn? I always thought that would be a cute idea."

Jack said, "I think that's a cute idea baby." Katherine said, "Okay. I will do some research for a barn. And we can do the reception here. So do we have an exact date we want?"

"Okay. I know this sounds super cheesy. But what about July 4?" "That's cute baby. I think that sounds like a good idea."

Katherine said, "Alright. I'll see what I can do. I'll do some research and then when I find a few places, I'll set up tours." "Sounds good."
