A Devil Meets An Angel

Chapter 12

Weeks past and they are still undergoing a training under Sir Maximus Vaughn. They are still living in the same roof together at the far end of the country. No one knows that they are there. No one knows where they currently are except for those people that they are together with and of course, their families.

A deep feeling of isolation has always been the companion of Sam for so long until now. Even if there are lots of people around him that are always happy, contented, and always excited for the things that may come ahead of them, he keeps the distance between them. He built a wall that no one can break, no one can subside even for just a short period of time.

Everyone was always wondering when will that wall would break-free, when would it crash to a thousand pieces, and lastly, when would its owner will allow himself to make that wall disappear? Disappear and would be gone forever.

"Everything is happening according to plan and the way it should be and, so far, we have accomplished lots of things these past few weeks. You have learnt so many things that many people would take time to absorb and learn. And because of that, I am rewarding you a gift.", sabi ni Sir Max sa amin na nakapag-paliwanag ng aming mga mukha. Sino ba naman ang hindi matutuwa kapag nalaman mo na bibigyan ka ng award pag-katapos ng napakahabang pag-hihirap? Though, hindi pa talaga tapos ang training naming, syempre, masarap pa rin sa feeling na kahit sandali ay makatanggap o makaranas ka man lang ng kahit maliit na gantimpala. Hindi man hingiin ay sadyang may darating at darating talaga. Matuto ka lang talagang mag-hintay.

"I am giving you a one-day break from the training and it will be tomorrow. You can do whatever you want to do or go wherever you want to go but make sure that if you will leave this place, you will have some of our members go with you. And you will still have a curfew, before six o'clock will strike, all of you should be here inside this house safe and sound. Do we have an understanding here?", he asked us. We all nodded in agreement to the plan.

"After that one-day break, no more else and we will all resume to do the training again. And before I let you all go, I will just inform you that the next thing that you will do is to study all the international languages.", after he said that, he bid his farewell to us and went outside the house.

"Hay, salamat! Akala ko ay forever na tuloy-tuloy lang 'yung training natin at walang pahinga kahit isang araw man lang.", sabi ni Bea habang nakaupo kami sa sala at nanunuod ng movie dahil katatapos lang namin kumain at mag-linis ng aming mga sarili.

"Yeah, right.", sabi ni Althea.

"Pero ano naman ang gagawin natin bukas or saan naman tayo pupunta? May alam ba kayo na puwede puntahan na malapit lang dito?", tanong ni Johanna.

"Ako, meron akong alam! At sobrang lapit lang dito. 800 meters away lang.", sabi ni Monique.

"Saan naman?", tanong sa kaniya ni Brandon.

"Sa Villa Alevira.", sagot ulit ni Monique.

"Ano naman mapapala natin dun?", tanong sa kaniya ni Alexander.

"Marami. Marami tayong mapapala doon.", sagot sa kaniya ni Monique.

"Anu-ano naman?", tanong ni James.

"Maraming shop doon na nag-bebenta ng iba't-ibang mga gamit katulad ng sapatos, damit, bag, sombrero, at marami pang iba. Tapos may park din doon, may restaurant, meron din sports complex doon. Oh, 'di ba, ang dami nating magagawa doon?", sagot ni Monique.

"Eh, ang tanong, paano mo nalaman 'yung lugar na iyon? Eh, hindi pa naman tayo nakakalayo dito sa bahay bukod sa pag-punta lang natin ng dagat o kaya sa training ground.", takang tanong sa kaniya ni Mark.
