A Devil Meets An Angel

Chapter 13

Kinabukasan ay gumising kami ng maaga para makapag-handa sa pupuntahan namin na lugar na kung tawagin nga ay Villa Alevira. I did some research about that place last night and I found some interesting things that can be done there and Monique is right, it is just 800 meters away from where we are staying. That place has lots of tourist attractions and they also said that you won't have a single chance to rest because it has lots of things to do there. Well, we can only prove that what they said on the internet was really true when we get there.

We left our pad at exactly 8:00 in the morning and the ride did not take long because we immediately arrived at the spot. The first place that we went into was the park. We rode bicycles there, took some pictures, watched the children play around the area, and lastly, ate some ice creams. The second place was the old houses that was aligned on a straight row at the end of the road. We entered some of them and we saw a lot of things that are really old but are continuously being preserved by the caretakers of the houses. You will really see the oldness of the houses because of the fading materials that were used there. But, they still remain beautiful in a unique way. They were built way back 1930's, said the house takers that we had talked to. We took pictures of them and when we're done, we decided to take our lunch at the restaurant near it. We ordered their native foods and delicacies that can only be found and tasted there. We didn't feel disappointed about the food because they were all really delicious and satisfying.

The next spot that we had gone into was the bazaar. We bought some clothes and accessories that we like and also some souvenirs to take home to when our training has ended. We did some more strollings around the vicinity of the villa until evening has come and we were able to take some rides at the carnival there before the fireworks display had started. After that, we decided to return to our place because it was getting late and we were sure that Sir Max was looking for us. We arrived at the house at exactly 8:00 in the evening and our dinner was being prepared by the house helps. We ate dinner silently and, after that, we went upstairs so we can go to our own rooms and get ourselves cleaned.

Our day was very tiring but we experienced a lot of fun and enjoyment so our strengths were all worth it, after all. We had talked today's events until midnight has come. We were currently discussing things about our organization when suddenly, I remembered something.

"Guys, do you know that guy whose name is Chad, Chad Lewis?", I asked them.

"Yeah, I know him. I just met him this morning and I think he's a good guy.", said Johanna.

"Well, I don't like him. He gives me the creeps.", I replied to her.

"Why? Did something happen that we don't know?", Althea asked.

"Nothing. It was just last night, I had been awoken by an unknown reason so I decided to go here and go straight to the kitchen to drink water when suddenly, I heard footsteps coming from the garden. Because of my curiousness, I followed the noise until my feet brought me there and when I was examining the place, I saw a shadow. A man. I immediately hid behind the tall plant there and watched him from what he was doing. He looked like he was planning something bad because he was examining the whole place and he was wearing an all black outfit from head to toe. I was about to go back to where I came from to find some people whom I could report to about the man when I unintentionally made a noise and that resulted for him to turn his head on my direction. He didn't see me immediately because I hid behind the plant, again and waited for his next move.", I am at this point of my story when they went to me nearer and at the looks of their faces, I could tell that they became more interested on what's about to come next. They were waiting from what I would say next so I continued.

"He slowly went to my direction and what shocked me was that he pulled a gun inside his right jacket pocket and pointed it at his front view. I immediately thought of a plan so I could counter him when he would attack me but to my dismay, I have nothing else better to do than to fight him with my own bare hands. When he reached my position, I readied myself from whatever he would do but when he saw me, he just smirked at me and asked me questions that irritated me more. He asked me what I was doing there and if I was spying on him so I have no other choice but to get out behind the plant and reveal myself fully for him. I asked him lots of questions but he just answered some of them. And, the next thing I knew, he is also one of us. I wanted to ask him more questions when Sir Max suddenly came out of nowhere so, I wasn't able to continue my assault on him. Before I went back inside, I told him that the next time that he will show himself to me, he shall make sure that he looks decent enough because if he won't then, I will not have a second thought to shoot him even if I wouldn't have the chance to know who he is.", I explained to them.

"Well, that explains why you don't like him.", Bea said.

"Your first impression towards him can be changed by proving his worth to us on the coming days ahead.", Monique said matter-of-factly.

"Maybe.", I said.

"Anyway, did you, by chance, see Sam yesterday? Because I didn't.", asked Brandon.

"No, I didn't. And who cares, after all?", answered James.

"Well, I care. Because yesterday, before we left here, I encountered Sir Max at the garage and he told me that we should also look for Sam as well and bring him with us. He also said that he noticed we are not very much fond of Sam so maybe that was the right time for us to get to know him better.", replied Brandon.

"Seriously?", questioned Alexander.

"Well, it wouldn't hurt if we will try, right?", Mark asked and looked at us with a questioning look.

"Well, if you want to be his friend then, don't include us to your plan.", Althea said.

"Who said that I want to become his friend? I just asked if it wouldn't hurt if we'll try to know him better, that's all.", replied Mark.

"Whatever, it's just the same.", Althea replied back.

"There is a big difference between befriending the person and knowing the person better, Althea. Do you want me to explain that to you, further?", Mark challenged her.

"No, thanks. It would be just a waste of my time.", Althea said with a dismissive tone on her voice.

"Alright.", Mark said then smirked at her. Althea sticked her tongue out to Mark then rolled her eyes at him.

"Hey, both of you, can you stop that childish acts of yours?", Bea said with an irritated look plastered on her face. Mark and Althea raised both their hands signaling their forfeit. Alexander suddenly coughed so we turned our heads on him.

"Hey, bro, you alright?", James asked him.

"Ah,yeah. I'm alright.", He replied. The boys exchanged looks then they smirked after. While us, girls, exchanged looks of confusion but, then, we just shrugged it off.

"They are the only ones who understand themselves.", Johanna whispered to us. We agreed to her. We continued to talk different kinds of things until we decided to go upstairs and take a rest. I was about to enter my room when Ate Carol, one of the house helps, called me.

"Sir Maximus wants to talk to you. He's at the garden right now.", she said with a smile on her face.

"Oh, okay. Thank you, Ate Carol." I said and smiled back to her. I went at the garden immediately and there, I saw Sir Max sitting at one of the benches that was placed there. On his right hand was a glass of red wine in it. I sat silently beside him and waited for what he was about say. There was a long silence between the two of us but it was lost when he spoke.

"Tell me, what is the reason behind Sam's attitudes and behaviours? I am not planning to interfere in your own personal lives but how can I truly help and train you all to become the people we really need you to be and everyone call me a real teacher if I can't even fix the real problems that you are facing right now? I know it is your parents' job but you know that I treat you all as my own children, as well.", he said and when I looked at him, I saw on his face for the first time an affection that I never have seen during our trainings and I never would have thought existed. I took a breath for a while and when I was ready, I spoke.

"Actually, I don't know as well, I mean, his real reason of him becoming cold, hard, and distant from everyone else. When we were just little kids, he was also one of our friends, best friends, actually. We do things that best friends do like going to places, playing and joking around, eating together, even sleeping together, and so much more. But when we started going to school, everything has changed. He became distant to us. He parted ways with us. He started viewing us as his enemies. Our feelings with each other became distant, as well. We're trying to talk to him but every time we try, he walks away, he didn't talk to us or even look at us. Then, Bea and the rest of us became tired of chasing and trying to talk to him, of fixing whatever reason behind him being distant, him parting ways with us, him treating us as enemies, and him changing. Except me, still holding on that one day, everything will go back to the way it once was, everything will fall into the right place, again.", I explained and I didn't noticed that I was silently crying while reminiscing all those moments we once shared with him.
