A Devil Meets An Angel

Chapter 22

"Kung nakita mo lang sana ang hitsura niya kanina habang nanunuod tayo ng movie ay matatawa ka talaga.", sabi ni Johanna habang tawa pa rin siya ng tawa hanggang ngayon.

Kanina kasi ay napag-kasunduan naming siyam na mag-movie marathon since wala naman kaming ginagawa at katatapos lang namin gawin ang mga assignments and projects namin for this semester.

"What was he looked like?", pag-tatanong ko sa kaniya. Kaming dalawa lang ang nandito ngayon sa aming kuwarto since hanggang ngayon ay dito muna kami nanunuluyan sa building for the members of the organization sa kadahilanan pa ring for safety measurements.

It has been a few days since the passing of our report to our parents and they really are satisfied of what we have come up to. Nasa ibaba yung iba dahil kakatapos lang namin kumain ng dinner at may mga sarili silang kailangan gawin dahil malapit na rin matapos ang first sem.

"He looked like he had just witnessed the most impossible thing in the history of the world being revealed in front of him.", sabi niya ng may pag-kaeksaherada.

"And why is that?", pag-tatanong ko muli sa kaniya.

"I don't know if that facial expression of his was for the movie we were watching that time which I think was a very good one or for some unknown reason that he is the only one who knows it.", pag-sagot niya.

"Well, enough of our talk about James because seriously speaking, I think that he is repeatedly and unintentionally biting his tongue until now just 'cause of our chatting and he doesn't even know it.", sabi ko sa kaniya. She seems a bit disappointed but, well, she can't do anything about it.

"You know what? I think we should ask Sir Max about the thing we've been craving to know for as long as I can remember.", sabi niya na ikinakunot ng aking noo.

"What's that?", tanong ko sa kaniya.

"Oh, come on, now you forgot it! I thought you can't forget even just a single, tiny thing?", tanong niya ng hindi makapaniwala.

"Well, how should I know what you are talking about if there are lots of things we are craving to know from the very start of our existence? You should make it clear.", tanong ko sa kaniya pabalik.

"The only thing that I am talking about is our curiousness about Sam's sudden change of attitude, of beliefs.", sabi niya matter-of-factly.

"Sir Max also doesn't know.", sabi ko sa kaniya.

"Why are you so sure?", tanong niya.

"Remember the night we arrived late at the house from our one-day break during the training?", tanong ko sa kaniya.

"Yeah, I remember that.", sagot niya.

"When you were all upstairs, we were at the garden and we talked about him, some about us and during our childhood days. He also was wondering why Sam and us are not fond of each other.", pahayag ko sa kaniya.

"What did you tell him?", tanong niya.

"I told him everything that he wanted to know. A brief history from our past, to be exact.", sabi ko sa kaniya.

Sandaling katahimikan ang pumaibabaw sa pagitan naming dalawa.

"Then, I think we should mark an X on Sir Max at the list of the possible things on how we can know the answers behind Sam.", suhestiyon niya.

"Yeah, you're right.", pag-sangayon ko sa kaniya.

Nag-babasa ako ng magazine at si Johanna naman ay gumagamit ng laptop ng biglang tumunog ang aking cellphone at ng tingnan ko ito ay nakita ko sa screen ang isang mensahe galing kay Gabriella na nag-sasabing kailangan ko raw bumaba dahil may importante siyang sasabihin sa akin.
