Call
"I want to talk to them... alone," I said when we arrived at the cemetery. We also bought a bouquet of flowers before we enter the cemetery.
"Sure, ihahatid muna kita doon." He unbuckled his seatbelt at may inabot sa likod. "Mainit." He said and show me an umbrella.
Behind my serious face, I almost cried of how thoughtful he is. Bakit ba kailangan ganito siya? Nakakainis! Kahit ako hindi ko man lang naisip na mainit nga at kakailanganin ko ng payong.
Lumabas na kami ng sasakyan at agad niya binuklat ang payong. I gave him a small smile before we took our way to my parent's graves. Hindi na naman kami nahirapang hanapin iyon dahil binigyan na ako ni nana ng direction kung saan eksaktong nakalibing sila.
"I'll wait in the car. Here," iniabot nito saakin ang payong at tinanggap ko naman. Tinanguhan ko lang ito at nagsimula na siyang maglakad pabalik ng sasakyan.
When he finally got inside his car, I faced my parents. I'm not yet saying anything but I could already feel my hot tears, trying to escape from my eyes. I sat down. Tinanggal ko ang mga damong naligaw sa lapida nila. Magkatabi lang silang inilibing. I put the big bouquet in between them. I could still remember their promises with each other na palagi nilang pinaparinig saakin pag sa kwarto nila ako matutulog.
"Forever, I'll be beside you." Daddy said while caressing my mom's face. Nasa gitna nila ako at nakikinig lang sa kanila habang nangingiti.
"I promise I will never leave your side." Si mommy naman. They look so lovely.
"Ako ba dad, mom? Wala kayong promise saakin?" Singit ko. I'm such a jealous daughter. Gusto ko palaging kasali sa sweet moments nila, na gusto din naman nila.
"Of course meron. We promise to love you forever, sweetheart." Mommy said and caressed my cheeks. I gave her a wide smile. "I love you too Mom, now and forever."
"How about you dad?" Ngayon kay daddy na naman ako nakatingin while pouting. "Mas love mo ata si mommy kesa saakin eh," I pouted more.
He pinched my nose and chuckled, ganun din si mommy.
"My jealous daughter. Of course I love you both. Hmm I promise that you'll always be my baby," he said then planted a kiss on my forehead.
"Baby? Paano pag malaki na ako? Pag college na ako?" I innocently asked. He drew a wide smile on his face.
"Kahit pa matanda kana, kahit pa maputi na buhok mo, you're forever my baby." He said before he pulled us into a hug.
That's one of the best nights of my life. Until now, I'd always think about those nights, na kahit kailan hindi na mauulit pa. They are gone. But they will forever be inside my heart.
Daddy did fullfil his promises. Till death he's beside mom and until I grew up he still treated me as his baby.
That's when I promised myself that I'll marry a man just like my dad. I bitterly smiled. Malabo na iyan ngayon.
"Hi Mom, Dad..." I began and let out a deep breath. I wiped the tears who successfully escaped from my eyes.
"I'm sorry if it took me months to have the courage and visit you." I softly caressed their gravestone.
"I'm sorry if I did such horrible thing. Alam kong nagalit kayo doon dahil hindi niyo ako pinalaking duwag at mahina. Sorry kung naging mahina ako noon. Nagpadala ako sa emosyon ko." I let my tears fell down my cheeks.
"I'm sorry kung na-disappoint ko kayo." I bowed down a bit, feeling the tears dropping to my dress. "I hope you could forgive me." I sobbed, can't contain the pain anymore.
