We went to a more secluded place, which made me more nervous than I already am. I'm expecting all the hurtful words she might throw to me, or worst she'll slap my face. I will take it all. Although I know Tita is not that type of person, but who knows? Anak niya ang pinag-uusapan dito.

Nang makarating ay hinarap niya ako gamit ang seryosong mukha. I can't look at her in the eyes kaya yumuko ako. My fingers were fighting on my back. Ramdam ko ang lakas ng kabog ng puso ko. She's my bestfriend's mother and I don't want her to be distant with me.

"Zevoun..." She trailed. I keep on swallowing, trying to calm myself and I keep on failing.

"I want to talk about... Lemiel,"

That's it. It only takes her to mention Lemiel's name.

"I-I'm sorry Tita... Hindi ko naman siya pinipilit na samahan ako sa Balilihan." Fucking eyes, naluluha na naman. Ang emosyunal mo Zevoun.

I just don't want Tita to hate me.

I lifted my face to face her. Her brows furrowed and she tried to open her mouth but nothing came out.

"I promise Tita, sinusubukan ko talaga siyang itaboy. Ayaw ko din na nandoon siya. Ayaw kong nakikita siya."

Lies. You're full of lies Zevoun.

Mas lalong kumunot ang noo niya. Hindi parin siya nagsasalita.

"Don't worry po, I'll do my best para lumayo na siya saakin." I tried my best to hold my tears. Hindi dapat ako umiyak. Baka isipin pa ni Tita na ako mismo ang nasasaktan sa mga sinasabi ko.

"What... what do you mean?" Tita asked with her confused look.

Hindi ako nakasagot dahil kahit ako hindi maintindihan ang pinag-uusapan namin. Hindi ba ito ang ibig niyang sabihin?

"You... you don't like Lemiel... being around you?"

I stared at her, not knowing what to say.

"I thought..." She trailed.

"Po?"

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry kung hindi mo nagugustuhan na umaaligid si Lemiel sayo. I'll try to talk to him."

I'm really confuse. What?

"P-po? H-hindi ko po kayo naiintindihan."

"If you don't want him around you, I'll tell him. Don't worry." May pag-aalala na sa boses nito.

"D-diba iyan din po g-gusto niyo?"

Ngayon bumalik sa pagkunot ang noo nito.

"I... I thought you'd talk to me para pilitin si Lemiel na layuan ako." I said, still confuse.

"What?" She chuckled na mas lalong nagpataka saakin. "Of course not! I wanted to talk to you because I wanted to thank you..."

"Thank you? Saan po?"

She stepped closer to me. Kinabahan naman ako. Ito na ba iyong sampal?

Nagulat ako nang hinawakan niya ang magkabilang balikat ko bago ako hinila para sa isang yakap.

"Thank you for waking up. Thank you so much." Parang pinipiga ang puso ko sa narinig.

"Thank you. And I'm sorry about Lemiel." Marahan niyang hinihimas ang likod ko.

I couldn't react. I don't know how to react. Nalilito parin ako. Ibig sabihin hindi galit sila Tita saakin?

After that the party continued, but my mind was already flying. This night was full of surprises. At talagang sabay pang isinampal saakin.
