Oh yes, you read the title correctly. This chapter is about math. You're fAvoRiTe subject of all. Ahaha.
Did you get a good grade on it? Heck no. You're terrible at it.
The moment you stepped into your class, you felt the teacher's intense stare on you. She said the words that made you shut your eyes so tight. "I'm assigning a tutor for you."
You hated being tutored by a student. The only thing that you got out of it was how awkward you are and how much you nod without even knowing what something actually means.
Time skip to the end of the day. You went to the library with your workbook in your arms and your backpack over your shoulder.
You sat at a table, waiting for your tutor to come. I hate this so much. You muttered under your breath.
After a few seconds, you heard the door opening so you turn your head in that direction. It was one of your classmates. The smartest one with a high IQ.
You watched as he sat down in next to you with a smile that shows his dimples. "Hi, I'm Kim Namjoon. I'll be your tutor for the next 2 months."
You smile back. "I'm—"
"Y/N. I know." He said, making you blush slightly. Tutors are supposed to know your name but it felt different coming from him.
He was very attractive and cute. When you noticed you were staring too long, you look down at the workbook and opened it to a random page. "Let's get it started!"
The whole time he was teaching you, you weren't paying attention. All you could hear was, "You. . . .need to replace your x. . . .with . . . . me."
You just kept nodding even though you didn't understand a thing he was trying to help you with.
"Do you understand?" He asked, looking up from the page to you. You nod again and he leans back in his seat with his arms crossed. "Then get to work."
"Huh?"
"Solve the problem." He points at the question that was on the paper with his pencil. You gulped nervously then look down at it.
There were too many numbers that your brain couldn't handle. You just stared at the problem, not doing anything. You cursed under your breath.
"Do you need help?" Namjoon asked after letting out a sigh.
"Yes. . ." You respond, tired of having to sit in this library and not laying in bed at home.
"Did you not understand a thing I had told you before? What is there not to understand?" He fixed his glasses and stared at you, waiting for your explanation. You bit your lip, not wanting to tell him why you weren't really paying attention to what he was explaining.
"Well, you see. Haha, I wasn't listening. At all. All I could take from your lesson was replace x. ." You smiled nervously as the expression on his face was serious.
He raises a brow then sighs.
"Y/N, in order to pass math class, you need to pay attention to the lessons. I'm trying my best to help you learn and get a way better grade than what you have now." He says as he takes off his glasses to rub his face. "Look, I understand that it's hard but you seriously can't be this. . . inarticulate."
"Uh, what does inarticulate mean?" You ask and he sighs.
"It's another word for dumb."
He just called you dumb in a fancy vocabulary term.
What are you going to do about it?
