The Necklace

Peter knew that Gamora did not like when Peter bought her things or took her to fancy expensive restaurants he knew that she just liked to cuddle up with him under the stars or she just liked to hold his hand and lay her head on his shoulder while he told her stories from Terra.

But Peter really wanted to get her a piece of jewelry. Now he didn't want to get her it because he saw it on television back on Terra and thought that it would be a romantic thing to do. No. He just really wanted to get her a piece of jewelry specifically a necklace that has his initial on it to show that no one could have her because she was his.

That afternoon since they were already on Xandar he wanted to go try and find the necklace he was looking for so he could give it to Gamora but he was stopped by you guessed it the green assassin herself.

"Hey, where are you going." She asked becoming very curious

"Oh I just wanted to go on an afternoon walk...you know a leisurely stroll." Peter said very nervously

Gamora could tell that he was lying to her. They had been dating for over four months now and she could tell when he was lying to her.

"Ummm...okay can I go with you." She asked trying to figure out where exactly he was going

"Actually can I just go by myself I need to clear my head." Peter said trying to keep the necklace a surprise. He could tell in Gamora's face that he wasn't fooling her but he still hoped she would let him go alone.

Gamora was kind of upset that he didn't want her to go with him because she thought that they didn't keep secrets from each other but I guess they did.

"Okay, I guess that's fine." Gamora said sounding uneasy

"Thanks, I will see you in a little bit." He said kissing her on the cheek he knew she was feeling very uneasy but he knew he was doing it for all the right reasons so he thought it was fine.

Peter walked off the ramp of the Milano and started walking towards the shops on Xandar.

Peter went to about a hundred different stores and he was about to give up when he saw a little gift shop and just walked into it thinking he wasn't going to find what he was looking for.

He looked around and saw a wall of jewelry he then saw it. A silver necklace with two charms on it one that was in the shape of P and had a little diamond on it and then another smaller charm in the shape of a heart that said I love you to the moon and back. He saw it and he knew it was perfect.

He grabbed it and went up to the cashier

"How much?" Peter asked

The cashier looked up at him and his eyes went wide "For you it is free."

Peter was very shocked at what he just said "What why?"

"You saved my mom and dad from getting killed by Ronan and I don't know how I could ever thank you so just take it." He said very happily

"Thank you so much sir. I appreciate it." Peter said making sure the cashier knew that he was very thankful and he started to make his way back to the ship.

Peter knew Gamora would be angry with him because it was now dark outside. It was only because it took him so long to find the necklace.

He walked on to the ramp of the Milano and walked inside he turned the corner to see an angry Gamora with her arms crossed standing in front of him blocking his entrance into the kitchen

"Where have you been your dinner is now cold." Gamora said sternly

"I know I am really sorry I promise I will make it up to you. I didn't do anything illegal or bad that could get me in trouble I just had to run an errand." Peter said trying to justify his actions without ruining the surprise

"What kind of errand are we talking about." Gamora asked not letting Peter go into the kitchen until he answered her question

Peter didn't answer her question instead he grabbed her hand and led her into the kitchen where she had made dinner and lit a candle for the two of them and had soft music playing in the background.

When he saw what she had done he felt really bad but he was about to make it up to her.

"You did all this." Peter said feeling really guilty

"Yeah but I obviously did it for nothing because you weren't even here."

"Look I'm sorry" he said walking towards her and rubbing both of her arms gingerly

"But I have something for you. Just turn around." Peter said to her trying not to make her nervous

Gamora was a little hesitant but turned around. A smile crept upon her face when she felt Peter move her hair out of the way and put something around her neck.

He clipped the necklace together around her neck making sure not to make it to tight.

She looked down at the necklace trying to figure out what the charms were. She saw the P shaped charm with a little diamond on it and then saw the smaller heart shaped charm. She read it and saw that it said I love you to the moon and back.

"P as in Peter and a heart that says I love you to the moon and back." She said happily

"Well yeah I know you really don't like jewelry that much or materialistic things but I really wanted to get this for you that is why I am back so late because it took me so long to find it and that is why I didn't let you come with me because I wanted it to be a surprise-"

Peter was cut off when Gamora leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips.

"I love it. Thank you." And she kissed him again and he kissed back

"Now let's heat up this dinner re-light this candle and talk a little." he said happily

"I'd like that."

The night ended with them dancing softly to the music that Gamora had put on to play in the background. They were both dancing just staring into each other's eyes just being happy together.
