Peter woke up to a cool breeze brushing over his skin. At first he thought it was nice but then he felt a shiver run through his body and he groaned. He was a little pissed off when he realized what time it was. It was 1:30 am and he knew now that he has woken up it would be very hard for him to fall back asleep again.

Lately over the past two years it has been a lot easier to fall back asleep when he woke up in the middle of night because he no longer slept alone. So he rolled over on his left side and rested his arm on the opposite side of the bed waiting to feel the sensation of smooth green skin under his arm but when he rested it on the opposite side of the bed he just felt crumpled sheets beneath his touch. He sat straight up realizing Gamora wasn't next to him and got a little worried. He relaxed when he realized that she was probably in the bathroom or getting a drink of water and that she would be right back so he just waited there for her tracing the crumpled sheets with the tip of his finger where Gamora was supposed to be.

About 30 minutes passed and he was starting to get a little worried again he didn't want to get up because he was very tired but his worries outweighed his exhaustion and he got up to find Gamora. He didn't even bother looking in the bathroom because he knew if she was going to be in the bathroom she would have been back by now. So Peter decided to check the kitchen to see if maybe she was getting a drink of water or having a midnight snack. He goes into the kitchen to see no one there.

"What the hell?" He said in confusion not knowing where she could be

But he had remembered in the back of his head that sometimes in the middle of the night when Gamora wasn't sleeping, in the bathroom, or getting some water that she liked to stargaze. He climbed the ladder very softly so that just in case she was up there she would not hear him coming. Peter climbed the ladder up to the cockpit and he immediately saw a glimpse of green skin and relaxed. He just stood there for a second watching her.

As he was staring at her for a while he noticed something strange. Her body was shaking and he could hear a familiar sound that he had never heard come out of her before. She was...crying. Peter's heart immediately broke into a million pieces when he realized what was happening. Peter didn't care if she knew he was there anymore he immediately walked up to her when he realized his girlfriend was crying.

"Hey...are you okay?" He asked becoming very concerned

"Peter go back to bed I will be there in a little bit." She said sounding very sad

Peter's heart sunk when he looked at her face. He could tell she had been crying for a while. Her eyes were red and puffy and her beautiful green skin was stained with tears. Her body was still shaking and he couldn't help but want to cradle her in his arms.

"No...why are you crying." Peter said as his eyes start to well up

"Peter. Go. To. Bed. I am fine. Just please...just leave me alone."

Peter had never heard Gamora sound so broken before in his entire life. He had never seen her cry or even seen her upset. He has only ever seen her angry.

"No, I'm not going back until you tell me what's wrong."

"Peter Leave. Me. Alone." At this point Gamora was standing up looking straight at Peter

"No" He said sternly

"Can't you understand when someone just wants to be left alone I know you love me but you don't have to be hovering around me every two seconds trying to make sure that-"

Gamora was cut off by both of Peter's hands cupping both her cheeks and wiping her tears away with both of his thumbs. After he had wiped her tears away he took one of his hands and started gingerly running his fingers through her hair.
