Zoella POV

"Where are the car keys?" Izzy called out as she dashed out of the room, leaving me momentarily puzzled.

Ian, standing by the door, turned to her and asked, "Are you coming with us?" He paused, a look of realization washing over his face as he added, "I thought this was supposed to be just Zoe and me having some time together, like a date."

Izzy, clearly misinformed, exclaimed, "Oh, I thought we were all going out! I dressed up for nothing?"

She plopped down on the couch, removing one of her boots. I picked it up and reassured her, "It's alright, you can join us." She eagerly took the boot from my hands and slipped it back on, her excitement palpable.

"Really? She is tagging along?" he asked.

"I'm not a dog, Ian, and yes, I'm going with you guys! Yay! Let's go have some fun!" With that, she snatched the keys from Ian and bolted out the door.

"You can't drive! Give me back the keys!" Ian shouted, sprinting after her. Just then, I heard footsteps on the stairs and turned to see Zavon, looking unusually pale.

"Are you alright? You don't seem well. Wait, have you been crying?" I asked, concerned.

"It's none of your business, just go on your stupid date," he snapped back. I couldn't help but feel hurt by his words.

"Why do you always talk to me like that? Do you really hate me so much?" I pressed.

He let out a scoff, dismissing my feelings. "I don't hate you, just go enjoy your date and have fun," he replied, waving his hand as if to shoo me away.

I heard the car horn blare, and as I turned to him, a smile crept onto my face. "You know what? You're such a jerk," I remarked while stepping towards the door, feeling a surprising sense of satisfaction in finally voicing my thoughts. Once I settled into the car, Ian took the wheel and drove us away; I could only imagine the argument he and Izzy had before she gave him the key. It's clear he cares for her, and I genuinely appreciate that about him, but the mixed signals he was sending my way were making me feel uncertain.

When we arrived at the mall, Izzy grabbed my hand and pulled me inside, while Ian mentioned he would grab the tickets for the movie we were about to see. It had been ages since I last visited the cinema. "Zoe, do you notice anything off about Zavion?" Izzy asked, her brow furrowed.

"Absolutely, Iz, the fact that he's been a total jerk and continues to be one?" I replied.

"No, not that. I think he might have been crying. He looks unusually pale, and that only happens when it rains, but it hasn't rained, so something must be bothering him."

I pondered for a moment before responding, "What do you think we should do? He's not one to appreciate people prying into his life."

"Yeah, but we can't just ignore him; he needs our support." Izzy nodded in agreement, her expression distant.

I gently tapped her arm, asking, "Iz, are you still with me?"

She snapped back to reality, "Yeah, sorry! Didn't you mention your sister is out of the hospital?"

"Yes, she is home now, resting. Why do you ask?"

"I believe I just spotted someone who resembles you; she has blonde hair, but since your sister has black hair, I must be mistaken." Chloe has already dyed her hair back to blonde.

"Where did you see her?" she asked.

"I noticed her over there with a tall guy who has black hair and a yellowish complexion." She replied, pointing in that direction. Could it really be Alex? She couldn't possibly remember him.
