Zoella POV

"I'm in love." Chloe burst into the room, tossing her shoes onto the bed with an air of excitement. Chuck had departed just as she entered the house, leaving a palpable tension in the air. I heard the sound of Zavion's car pulling away and turned my attention to her.

"I assume you had an enjoyable evening."

She responded enthusiastically, "It was fantastic, but I nearly compromised my secret."

Intrigued, I pressed for details, asking, "What transpired?"

She recounted a conversation. "He was talking about a girl named Zee, he said he looked for her but couldn't find her and she was his best friend and first love, blah blah blah. He even said "I love you to me today."

Chloe then produced a locket containing our pictures, and it dawned on me that the boy I had longed for was Zavion, who had been right beside me all along, unrecognized.

"That is me; I am Zee," I confessed.

Chloe's eyes widened as she exclaimed, "Why didn't you inform me? He nearly discovered my ruse."

I reassured her, "But he didn't, and I was unaware he was Z."

She expressed relief, adding, "Thank goodness, because I kissed him to divert the conversation."

My heart raced as I processed her words, "You kissed him?"

She replied with a playful wink, "Yes, and it was wonderful."

Struggling to maintain my composure, I asked, "You had sex with him?"

She clarified, "I wouldn't phrase it that way, Zoe; we made love."

My incredulity was palpable as I scoffed, "You made love?"

"More like satisfying our desires... He loves you, Zoe, and I think I'm beginning to feel the same way about him."

Concerned, I inquired, "What about Alex? What will you do regarding him?"

She sighed, "I'm uncertain, but if I leave him now, it could be disastrous... He would accuse me of infidelity and threaten my life."

"Chloe, you're really playing with fire here. You cheated. Why not just break up with him like a normal person would?"

"Alex isn't exactly your normal guy, and you know that," she shot back, her voice tinged with frustration.

"You've gotten yourself into this mess, though," I replied.

"I get it, I messed up," she admitted, her shoulders slumping slightly as the weight of her choices settled in.

"You know what your issue is, Chloe? The second Zavion's cash runs out, you'll be right back with Alex."

"That's not how it is," she protested, her eyes narrowing defensively.

"Come on, you know it is. You've done it before with other guys when we were younger, and you went back to Alex too," I pressed, hoping to make her see the pattern.

"I was just a kid back then, I didn't understand what love really meant," she shot back, her voice rising slightly as if to shield herself from the truth.

"Honestly, I think you still don't," I replied, my heart aching for her as I watched the conflict play out on her face.

"I need help," Chloe sighed, flopping down on the bed and slipping off her gown, the fabric pooling around her like a discarded dream. "I hate pretending to be you, but I feel like I have no other option."
