• andrea •I woke up the next morning at around 10:30, happy it was Saturday. It took me a few seconds to realize that it wasn't only Saturday, it was my birthday and I was fifteen.
Was I excited? No, not even one bit. My birthdays have always sucked. This year won't be any different.
I check my phone in hopes for a text from Shawn, maybe one from last night saying something sweet or a good morning text, or a happy birthday text. I had nothing from him. The only things I had received over night were a few Twitter notifications, a text from Samantha, and a text from Matthew.
Samantha: Happy birthday Andrea! Plans for today??
Matthew: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREA DALLAS *party emojis and stuff*
to- samantha: no plans for today, like usual. it's just a normal day except now i'm a year older
to- matthew: thank youuu matt *blushing emoji and blue heart emoji*
Samantha: No plans on your birthday?! Hell no. We're doing something.
Andrea: i dont really feel like it today
Samantha: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY.
Andrea: i know but i just dont feel well
Samantha: Ugh, okay. Feel better.
I hate how this is Shawn's fault. This is exactly why I didn't want to do this; he can now control my moods.
When I am happy, it is because of him. When I am sad, it is because of him.
I exited my bedroom in which Anna was not in anymore. She wakes up way earlier than any of us in the house do. I walk down the stairs to the smell of pancakes.
"Happy birthday Andy!" My mother smiles wide and I cringe at the childhood nickname as she comes over and hugs me, kissing my forehead.
"Mom waited until ten to start making the pancakes," Hayes informs me from his spot at the table, "since she knew you wouldn't be up until then. Oh, and happy birthday."
"Thanks," I mumble as I sit down across from him.
Madison and Teala weren't home, and I didn't really care where they were. Nash comes in the kitchen groggily while rubbing his eyes.
"Good morning." he yawns, stretching his arms in the air.
He sits down next to me at the table and starts to pour some orange juice with his eyes still closed.
"Rough night...?" I question him and he nods, eyes still closed. I wipe up the tiny bit of orange juice he spilled, not making it in his glass.
"I was up all night searching for my-" he stops suddenly, fully waking up and realizing what he was saying.
"Searching for your what?" my mom asks curiously after flipping a pancake.
"My..."
He was searching for his birth parents on Google. I know this because I have done it, too.
"His laptop. I tried to help him find it but we couldn't find that thing anywhere. It was over at Cameron's." I reply for him, trying to help him out.
I know Nash doesn't really give a shit about me, but we were starting to become closer.
Hayes looks angry suddenly, and he stands from the table and rushes upstairs.
"Oh, okay." my mom shrugs to herself and flips more pancakes. Nash thanks me secretly and I nod.
I check one more time to see if Shawn had texted me yet. He hasn't.
