"The truth is everyone knows," I sang. In my bedroom, I was sat at my desk on my swivel chair, practising my verses and waiting for Jake and Ivy to arrive.
The doorbell rang and I hopped off of the chair, stumbling, as I continued humming my notes. I raced down the stairs and opened the door. Jake and Ivy stood beside each other.
"Hi guys," I smiled, moving out of the way to let them in.
Jake embraced me in a hug, burying his face in my hair. "You look extra nice today," he whispered. Ivy didn't notice, she was in a daze.
"Thanks," I smiled lightly at him and blushed, after he let go of me. "Erm, just go down to the recording room." I told the two. Ivy knew where to go, so I rushed off to the kitchen to get some water.
With the three cooled bottles of water in my arms, I went down to my basement which was converted into a recording or music room. Jake was messing with the keys and controls outside of the recording booth.
"Your outfit's cute," Ivy said, as she continued fidgeting with her camera.
"Thank you," I put the bottles of water on a desk. I was wearing black ripped skinny jeans, my white Doc Martins and a white lace bralet. I also put extra effort into my makeup, but my hair was pretty normal.
Ivy held her Canon camera in her hand, messing with it, probably trying to adjust it. She would be filming us singing in the booth. It was a little bit like the 'Almost is Never Enough' music video itself, but all of my and Ivy's covers were shot like that.
I sat on a chair beside Jake and suggested we practise the harmonies. Ivy shot some of that. Then she filmed us as we entered the booth and put on our headphones. I began singing my verse, then Jake joined in on his parts.
Ivy also suggested to shoot me playing some piano. I had made the background music. Me and Jake sat at the piano, as I played the noted for the song. We messed around with the keys as well, and Ivy filmed us laughing, which would look cute. We got a final shot of us hugging and smiling and looking all happy.
"That was great," I smiled. "Thanks so much Ivy," My arms wrapped around her.
"It's okay. I'm off now anyway," she smiled after I let go.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"Me and Reece are hanging out," she smirked, walking up the stairs.
I giggled.
"You sounded wonderful, by the way," I smiled at Jake.
"No, you were better. Your voice is just like... Incredible." he said, looking me right in the eyes. I blushed once again.
I turned around and went to tidy everything up. Plugging the MacBook out, sorting out the microphones and headphones in the booth and turning off all the keys, while Jake went on his phone
"Let's go," I ran up the stairs with the laptop. Jake followed me up another flight of stairs to the first floor, through three hallways and into my bedroom. He flopped onto my bed.
"Your house is actually so big. And you told me you weren't rich!" Jake exclaimed.
"Yeah, well I didn't want to sound very cocky, okay?" I laughed, opening my small walk-in wardrobe. After searching and finding my navy Jack Wills hoodie, I put it on over my top. Also I changed into a pair of black leggings, without Jake looking obviously, and threw my hair into a ponytail.
"And now we go back downstairs." I sighed, as Jake groaned.
My dad's MacBook was under my arm and my gold iPhone 6 was in my pocket as I ran into the living room. I hopped onto one of the couches.
"Make yourself cozy," I smiled at Jake. He took off his shoes and leather jacket and sat beside me on the couch. I leaned back on him, as we both sprawled out across the couch. As I got up to get a blanket, my mum called me from the kitchen.
"Leah, would you and Jake like some brownies and hot chocolate?"
Jake had heard her and I looked at him. "You're not allowed to say no." I said.
"Obviously I want brownies and hot chocolate." he said, why would he turn down brownies and hot chocolate anyway?
In the kitchen, I was greeted by the amazing smell of fresh chocolate. There was a plate of brownies and two mugs of hot chocolate on the island table, waiting to be consumed. "Thanks mum," I smiled, picking everything up carefully.
"Don't mention it," she smiled, as she cleaned the counters she had just been working on.
Jake's eyes lit up as soon as he saw the food, my reaction would have been similar. I set the plate and mugs down on the coffee table in front of the couch we were on.
I got comfortable beside Jake again, snuggling into him as a blanket and the hot chocolate kept us both warm. There was so much editing I had to do, it would take hours and I'd probably be up all night.
Jake tweeted selfies and tweets about us. He was really excited when I let him take my phone and hack all of my social medias. At about 11:45 my mum came in and said goodnight.
"Leah, come here for a second," she said. I groaned and moved off of a sleeping Jake's lap. He woke up from my movement.
"Is he going to spend the night here?"
"Probably," I mumbled, rubbing my eyes.
"Well if you're sleeping in your room, make sure he sleeps down here, okay? I don't want any funny business between you two." she whispered.
"Oh my God, mum. We're not even together! He likes another girl," I rolled my eyes at her.
"Still, make sure you sleep separately." she said strictly.
"Whatever," I rolled my eyes again, "Goodnight," I kissed her cheek, then turned around and walked back to the couch.
"Hm?" Jake woke again.
"Do you want to sleep? I can go upstairs if you want," I smiled.
"No, stay for a little bit more." he mumbled, pulling me back into him by my waist. I giggled quietly.
Jake let out a light snore which startled me slightly. I gently got off of him. The laptop was still turned on. It was nearly 1 a.m. Tip toeing out of the room and up the stairs, I made my way into my bedroom.
After changing into my pyjamas, I got into my bed and continued editing the video and the track itself. At half three in the morning, my body couldn't take being awake anymore, so I turned everything off and fell asleep.
