Starfire found Nightwing in the weight room punching a dummy in frustration.
"What is the matter?" Starfire asked softly floating up behind Nightwing.
"He's got us trapped!" Nightwing said slamming his fists into the leather dummy. "Slade is always one step ahead of us!" He gave the dummy a final blow as it burst open, letting the stuffing fall to the floor. "Aaagghhh!" Nightwing shouted with his face turning red with anger. He sank to the floor huffing and ran one hand through his inky black hair.
"You need to stay calm! We will get him!" Starfire reassured. She flew over to sit on the floor next to him. She placed a hand on his slumped shoulders as he hung his head. She scratched his back as he caught his breath. Raven teleported through the wall to see Starfire and Nightwing sitting on the floor, handling everything. She felt the energy was much calmer than earlier so she left without them noticing her presence.
Things blew over with Robin and Nightwing and the next few weeks flew by with minor robberies and break ins. Damien hung out with Beastboy more than ever after the incident with Nightwing. He forgave Nightwing but he was cautious ever since. Bumblebee was adjusting to her new role and even participated in training. She was so busy and that both her and Cyborg had completely forgotten to take a pregnancy test after 14 days. In Cyborg's mind, he wasn't convinced that the spell would even work the second time around so he didn't really think about it moving forward. He was just so happy that Bee was doing better since her miscarriage that he was taking every blessing he could.
Finally, after a month, Bee went to do some laundry and stumbled upon Beastboy, Cyborg, and Damien playing stink ball. She turned the corner as Beastboy whaled the ball of musty clothes into her face. She pulled the sticky smelly wad of clothing from her face and lost her stomach all over the floor from the smell.
"Foul!" Beastboy called jokingly as they looked at the throw up on the floor of the hallway. Bee looked green as she ran off to the bathroom to throw up again.
"I know the stank ball is bad, buuuuuuut..." Damien started as he elbowed Cyborg when it finally hit him.
"No! This is great!" Cyborg yelled ecstatic as he ran off to go check on Bee.
"Fineeeee. I'll clean up after your girl, Cyborg....your welcooome...." Beastboy moaned to himself as Damien grabbed Bee's laundry basket to go start her laundry.
Cyborg sat outside the bathroom as seconds ticked by like hours. Finally, Bee open the door looking like she'd seen a ghost.
"Are you...?" Cyborg asked barely able to contain himself but suddenly noticed the difference in Bee's mood.
"Yeah..." she trailed off not looking anywhere near as happy as Cyborg.
"Are you okay?" Cyborg asked concerned as she slid down to sit against the wall within him.
"Are we ready to do this again?" Bee asked internally panicking.
"Only if you want to be." Cyborg whispered as he scratched her back. "I promise I will protect you and our baby." Cyborg whispered into her hair as he hugged her tight to his chest. She suddenly jerked back up and ran back to the toilet to throw up.
"I'm not ready to be hugging this toilet for the next couple of months!" Bee moaned with a smile as Cyborg sat with her on the floor of the bathroom.
In the meantime, Beastboy and Raven continued to get closer by spending time together. Beastboy had to be careful to not be too forward with his feelings. Even though he was in head over heels, Raven wasn't ready for that yet. Beastboy wanted to dive in head first and love her unconditionally but Raven needed to control her powers before she could give in to any of it.
One night, Beastboy came in to Raven's room to sleep as he usually did. They got ready for bed together and got comfortable. Raven sat in bed, reading her book as Beastboy snuggled up to Raven's side. Beastboy inched closer and kissed her neck as Raven turned the page. She tried not to think about it but she loved the way his warm lips melted into her neck. He lingered and let another kiss travel up under her ear as her stomach fluttered.
"Stop it." Raven mumbled with a smile, fearing what could happen next.
"Aweee Raeeeee." Beastboy pouted into her hair. Even the heat from his breath on her neck turned her on more than she cared to admit. Beastboy settled down and snuggled without pushing the envelope further. Raven places her book on the nightstand and turned off the lamp. She laid there in the dark, unable to sleep. All she could think about was how good Beastboy's breath felt on her neck. Time ticked by and Raven's lack of sleep turned into frustration and all Raven could do was feel herself craving Beastboy's affection. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep but found herself envisioning Beastboy on top of her. A jar on her book shelf exploded and startled both Beastboy and Raven.
"What was that!?" Beastboy groaned as Raven groaned and shoved his arm off of her. She got up abruptly without responding to Beastboy and left the room. She quickly paced out to the living room and opened the freezer. She was having a harder time controlling herself lately and it was wearing on her room decor.
Beastboy ran out to the living room to see her sitting at the sofa with her head hidden under her cloak. "Raven! What happened?" Beastboy asked frantically and she hugged her knees, hiding the opening of her cloak by bowing her head down. Beastboy had never seen Raven act like this. He sat down next to her, placing a hand on her back but she stayed completely still. "Was it a nightmare?" Beastboy whispered. She shook her head without saying anything. "Okaaaay, well did something bad happen?" Beastboy asked even more confused now.
"Noooooooooo." Raven grumbled under her cloak, completely embarrassed.
"Okay, that's good...talk to me Rae! Tell me what's going on?" Beastboy pleaded.
"My emotions exploded a jar in my room..." Raven started, not wanting to go any further.
"Well okay, we both know that already but why?" Beastboy prodded.
"Well, you kissed me earlier..." Raven whispered, still hiding her face.
"Did you not like it? I won't do it again!" Beastboy offered.
"NO! No!" Raven protested a little too eagerly. She slid her knees down and Beastboy pulled her hood back to see her face. "I didn't dislike it..." Raven said with her cheeks turning pink with embarrassment. "I actually really liked it."Raven confesses.
"Oh!" Beastboy said relieved as the room fell silent and he suddenly connected the dots. "Ohhhhhhh!" He said again as he finally realized why she couldn't sleep. The two sat in silence, letting their thoughts do all of the work. After some time, Beastboy saw Raven start to look tired so he urged her to come back to bed.
"Do you mind if you go sleep in your room?" Raven asked feeling guilty.
"I don't mind, but are you sure that's what you want?" Beastboy whispered as they stood in her doorway. Raven sighed.
"I don't know." Raven whispered almost inaudibly.
"You can't be a slave to your powers forever, Rae." Beastboy whispered before kissing her on the forehead and turning to leave. He got back to his room and saw that it was 1am already. He moaned as he crawled up to his top bunk to sleep. Tonight was a night he needed to stare at the ceiling for a while so he did just that. Little did he know, Raven was doing the exact same thing.
