Bumblebee got up with a lot of effort these days. She had been in the white room for what felt like over a month and her anxiety about giving birth was through the roof. She figured that there had to be a reason that they hadn't killed her yet and her being pregnant was probably the answer. After this long, she figured they weren't after her but her baby.
With Beastboy starting to regain his powers, all eyes were on Raven to wake up. Beastboy was optimistic while Cyborg was attempting to prepare him for the worst. One particular interaction turned ugly when he tried to talk to Beastboy about his "options" as Raven's person.
"I'm not saying she won't wake up, but you do need to realize that it's a possibility." Cyborg said gently in the hospital wing.
"No!! We aren't giving up hope yet!" Beastboy shoves the conversation off again but Cyborg was willing to push through.
"Hey man, she hasn't been awake for over 4 weeks! I think it's time we faced the reality that she's gone!" Cyborg snapped, half talking about Raven and half taking out his aggressions of Bee's disappearance.
"JUST BECAUSE YOU GAVE UP DOESN'T MEAN I WILL!" Beastboy shouted which enraged Cyborg. Suddenly Nightwing shoved through the doors, interrupting Cybrog before he wrapped his metal hands around Beast Boy's throat.
Bumblebee was walking around the room in the hospital gown they put her in when they kidnapped her when she felt a powerful Braxton Hicks contraction. It hit hard, causing her to lean into the wall for a second. She took a deep breath and continued to walk. She had been trying to push herself to pace her room every day no matter how uncomfortable she was because it helped relieve her stress, however today, her baby was the lowest he'd ever been and she was struggling to simply walk straight. Trying to breath though the discomfort, a second contraction hit and as she leaned into the wall, she felt her water break. She quickly kept walking knowing that they were watching. She didn't want anyone to know today was the day so she continued on her normal walking routine until she finished her laps.
Once done walking, she had another contraction as she sat down on the edge of her bed. Taking a deep breath she covered herself with the white sheet and laid down, trying to act normal. She silently counted the seconds between each contraction and watched them go from 20 minutes apart to 7 and gain in strength. Suddenly gas filled the room and Bee panicked, screaming as she tried to cover her mouth, she fell unconscious.
She woke up, strapped to a stainless steel table with her feet up in stirrups. She was in a horrible pain and could feel her baby's pressure building with each contraction. She laid there in the empty room, mentally refusing he urge to push, knowing that it was probably a death sentence. Her instincts were kicking in. She wanted to reach down and feel how dilated she was but she couldn't because of the straps. She was trying to breath through each contraction but they were so close together that her body was beating her willpower and overpowering her desire not to push. Suddenly, she felt a searing pain of her baby's body pushing through. Bee started to cry in defeat right before a loud crash broke through the door. Cyborg rushed over and started to undo her restraints as she cried out in a mixture of agony and joy. "About time!!" She yelled in pain and anger with the last bit of energy she had. Cyborg coached her through the last bit of the pushing and kissed her hand repeatedly. Nightwing helped Cyborg by taking care of Bee as Cyborg checked over their new son. Nightwing handed the distressed Bee some water, watching her dry lips gulp down the glass in a flash. She hadn't had water throughout the entire day. She was so tired she could barely lift her head but all she could think about was if their son was okay.
Nightwing held the quiet baby boy as Cyborg helped get Bee cleaned up to leave. She tried to stand from the table but felt herself suddenly pass out.
