Beastboy shivered under the IV and oxygen tubes. Starfire flew Nightwing into the hospital wing through the window.
"I'm fine, I'm fine!" Nightwing protested as Starfire insisted he needed to be checked over. "I just need a shower and some dry clothes." He rebuked as Cyborg looked him over. He left to go shower and Beastboy laid silently as Cyborg drew his blood. When everyone left, he tilted his head towards Raven, who was still unconscious. Her body was still and if she hadn't had oxygen tubes, he wouldn't believe she was actually breathing. Another chill overtook his body and Beastboy weakly pulled his blankets up. Cyborg cane back with a puzzled look on his face.
"I can't find anything wrong with either of you two! I just don't get it!" Cyborg whispered mostly to himself as he looked into their charts again. Beastboy coughed trying to gain the strength to speak which grabbed Cyborg's attention.
"....can't....t-transform...." Beastboy manages to spit out which caught Cyborgs thoughts.
"Hmmmm, let me check some things!" Cyborg ran off to look further into the labels. Robin came in to the hospital wing to check on his friend Beastboy.
"Hey dude!" He whispered as he pulled up a chair. Beastboy grunted in response. Robin pulled out his communicator. "I just got back and I'm sitting with Beastboy. I got some leads on an abandoned hospital out south of town." Robin called over the communicator. Beastboy looked over at Raven watching her communicator go off without a twitch in her body. He sighed in disappointment as young Robin caught the small interaction.
Nightwing came in freshly showered, followed by Starfire who was showered and changed as well. Robin smirked at the two trying to pretend that they didn't just share a shower as Nightwing started to ask him more about his lead.
"It's a guy I know from when I first got into town. He runs an underground fighting ring and was able to piece together where he's been sending Terra's checks." Robin explained, suddenly realizing he had hit the jackpot today.
"That's huge Damien!" Nightwing gushed for a brief second, "great job!" Nightwing pulled your a chair near Raven and sat down. "Do you have an address?"
"No but he gave me directions. I'll go look it up on a map and get you the satellite image." Robin smirked as he got up. He glanced at Nightwing right before he left noticing he looked a little worse for wear himself.
Nightwing sat back into the chair as Starfire pulled up a stool to sit on. His eyelids were getting heavy. Beastboy looked over and noticed Nightwing nodding off in his chair. Starfire was zoning out at Raven's face.
The rest of the night came and went without a word on anyone's end. No one really wanted to talk, knowing that Bee was still out there and definitely in danger. The following day, Robin, Starfire, and Nightwing went to investigate the abandoned hospital, but unfortunately, there was nothing in the boarded up building besides aging medical equipment.
Disappointed, the team continued to search the city for the rest of the week without Raven and Beastboy. Beastboy was recovering physically but had lost his ability to transform. Raven never woke up. Cyborg kept searching for some type of anomaly but was at his wit's end between the lack of breakthroughs and Bee still being missing.
As a second week went by, Beastboy was back to normal (minus being unable to change) and Raven was still unconscious. Beastboy sat by her bedside and talked to her throughout his free time. Nightwing, Cyborg, Starfire, and Beastboy were getting their butts kicked by the amount of crime and Beastboy hated having to fight hand to hand as a human. One robbery was particularly rough on beastboy because control freak figured out he was unable to transform, making him the target. After taking a thorough beating, Nightwing sent him back to the tower to avoid getting any worse. He immediately went back to the hospital wing to tap up his scrapes and bruises while he complained to unconscious Raven.
Cyborg was also struggling as time went on. He was so determined to find Bee that every night, when he was unable to sleep, he went out and searched for any sign of her in the city. His temper continued to get shorter with each passing day.
Nightwing had subtly slipped into his obsessive habits again with researching Slade. Between Nightwing and Cyborg, the city was getting the thorough comb over it needed by night. Unfortunately, time continued to tick by and hope continued to dwindle.
Meanwhile, Bumblebee had started to adjust to her time in the white room. She had a bed, a toilet, and a sink just like a jail cell, but there were no windows or breaks in the wall besides one solid metal door. She could feel a lot of time had passed but she could only guess she was getting into the third week based off of the number of meals that were slid through the door. She could feel her son growing quickly and guessed she was getting to the end of month eight. The pressure on her pelvis was getting extremely uncomfortable and she could feel the baby constantly trying move lower, which terrified her to think she might give birth alone in this room. She had yet to see a single person besides the mysterious hand that snuck her meals every day. She was so hungry and exhausted. In this current situation, all she could really do was sit on the bed in a constant state of discomfort, and wait.
Meanwhile, Cyborg did have on break through. Beastboy tried to change one day which was followed by an excruciating pain all over his body, but he was able to change briefly. This development lead Cyborg to check their genetic code. It turned out that both Beastboy and Raven's DNA were altered slightly to be more human, upsetting the balance in their powers. Beastboy's affects seem to be finally starting to wear off. Whatever was going on with Raven, was possibly due to the instability of her powers due to being half human half demon.
