Gegege No Kitaro: Le chasseur Yokai

Chapter 8

( And through a flashback, Kitaro related a past event when he was a small child during rainy weather )

Kitaro: Mizuki, where are you taking me ?

Mizuki: (sigh) We are going to go see the Gegege forest but before, I would like to show you something.

Kitaro: And what is it?

Mizuki (making an air of regret): You will see ... (seeing the place) Here we are!

Kitaro: But ... But it's a cemetery.

Mizuki: Exactly ... This is what I want to show you (he pointed to a tomb with the name of Kitaro's mother written on it. Kitaro looked surprised) I'm sorry, Kitaro. Me and my mother couldn't tell you what really happened to them. They wanted you to survive and that's what I did when I found you here.

Kitaro (disoriented and pissed off, he started hitting Mizuki's leg): No, NO !! How could you ? You lied to me !!

Mizuki (lifting Kitaro while he continues to hit him): Kitaro, I didn't mean ...

(And there a thunderclap was heard,which makes Mizuki jump and Kitaro is projected towards the grave of his mother and his left eye struck the tombstone)

Mizuki (blinded by the thunderclap): Kitaro, where are you ? Kitaro ! (he saw the trace of blood on the grave of Kitaro's mother) Oh no ... (he saw Kitaro get up, crying in pain, and having his hands on his bloody left eye) Kitaro, ...

Kitaro (crying in pain): My left eye!!! How could you do this to me ?!

Mizuki (approaching Kitaro): Kitaro,I'm sorry, I ...

Kitaro (pissed off sobbing): Don't come near me !!! You did it to me voluntarily. You are no more different than these kids who made fun of me at school.

Mizuki: Kitaro, no ....

Kitaro (pissed off and crying): I don't want to see you anymore! Neither you nor anyone !!! (he fled into the forest)

Mizuki: Kitaro, wait !!! (but Kitaro was already far away)

(Kitaro sank more and more in the forest and in his race, he stumbled in front of a lake and saw the state of his left eye in his reflection)

Kitaro: I'm repulsive now. I am,forever ...

(And while he sobbed, he remembered the times when he was mocked at school as well as the name he was given"Repulsive Kitaro" . His sadness turned into anger and gradually his body released electrical sparks. At the end of his rage, Kitaro gave the ground a blow which released a large amount of electricity which could be visible in the air)
