Part Fifty Six
The sun descended below the horizon, the sky was painted orange red, Zoya sighed watching the beauty of the setting sun , how beautiful had Allah created it.
"SubhanAllah"
Today was another restless day for her, along with her ill health, she had to control herself from storming at Asad's study and demand to be told what had Haider found, since she had been told about the danger that lurked around and the blackmail calls her father got, she wanted to know what was it all about. She hoped to find it out today when Haider would arrive and she had steeled her heart to listen whatever was coming, yet she didn't know how much could she bear but Asad had asked her not to step out of their room, to get well first and had taken Haider to the study. They had stayed in till the time for duhur prayer and throughout that time she was getting restless with each passing moment and was thinking of every possible scenario. When they came out Asad didn't directly come to see her, she only heard him shouting from other side of the door about going for masjid for prayer, she waited for him to come back to know what Haider told him.
Zoya offered her prayers and picked up her ringing cell, it was Zeenat's call.
"As-Salam-u-Alaikum Khala, How are you?" She greeted and enquired
"Wa-Alaikum-Assalam, Alhamdulillah beta, how are you? Your voice has changed.."
"Common cold and sore throat" Zoya replied sitting on the window seat. She smiled as Zeenat expressed her concern and asked her to take proper care and told few home remedies.
"I will take care Khala, you tell me how is everyone at home? How is Humaira doing?"
"Alhamdulillah everyone is doing fine, I actually called to talk to you about Arbaaz." She sat up straight at the mention of Arbaaz, what does Zeenat want to talk about him? Did she found out what had happened and he is staying at some dingy place. Asad had told her about the place Arbaaz lives in, a room with enough space only for one and how bad his surroundings were along with no cleanliness. She didn't ask Arbaaz to leave, but didn't want Zeenat to have a wrong opinion about her.
"What about him Khala?" She asked worriedly.
"He is elder to Asad and..."
"And?" Zoya questioned.
"He should have been married by now." Zeenat completed her sentence, Zoya left the breath she was holding and sighed in relief.
"Ji" She replied.
"One of our relatives suggested few proposals when I told them about searching for a bride for Arbaaz." Zoya hummed in response urging Zeenat to continue. She knew from her mother that she and her Abbu had accompanied Arbaaz to meet one of the proposal Arbaaz's aunts had selected, it didn't work out and she had already talked with Asad about Arbaaz's living arrangements, because she couldn't let her guilt go until he had shifted into some proper place.
"I discussed them with your Ammi, if she knows any of the families and or can help to select a good proposal, we liked one of the girl and as Arbaaz's aunts aren't there, why don't you go and meet the family of the girl as Arbaaz's sister-in-law."
"Me? Khala , I don't know how to handle these meetings. I can't.." Zeenat interrupted her.
"Zoya, it's not as complex as you think and even your Ammi will be accompanying you, please beta."
