Part Sixty-Nine
Faiqa was looking at her family settled in the living room of their house, her grandparents, her parents and siblings, they were having a small party for encouraging their father, his health had improved, they all were happy.
She was listening to his plans of starting back his store, they owned a genral store which had to be closed because of his ill health, her grandfather wasn't in a condition to take care of it and her brother had just started his first year of graduation.
He would have to leave the college to look after it, even though they were trying to handle it, in evening when her brother returns from college, he and her grandfather were trying to handle the store but they couldn't handle it well and the earning wasn't enough. Allah had blessed her with a job that was helping them.
She was listening to him talking passionately about his store, she wanted him to rest more, he was still recovering, he needed to be free of stress, but she didn't want to dampen his mood, after days she could see the happiness in his eyes and she knew how it had hurt his pride that his household was running on his daughter's money.
She also knew that in normal conditions he wouldn't have allowed her to work and if miraculously he would have let her work then he wouldn't have taken her money, it would be only her's, her father wasn't of those who lived off woman's money.
She had seen some people of her extended family, who take their women's money, as soon as salary was deposited in the account, the woman has to keep the money in her husband's hand or the mother-in-law's hand. They demand it without any self-respect. Alhamdulillah atleast her father wasn't like that.
"And we have to look for a good proposal for Faiqa...." It caught her attention.
They were discussing her marriage, they had seen couple of proposals which didn't work out and she was glad that they didn't work out because they were the people of innovations, but marriage was inevitable. It was half of faith and she was willing to do it for Allah.
She wished she could live with her parents forever, no one would understand how difficult it was for a girl to leave her parents house and settle in with someone else and adjust with his family.
A guy whom you don't know or you know little about, even the person you had known for ages can not be the correct one as he might have portrayed himself to be.
It wasn't easy, it will take many things to make it work, compromises, adjustment, understanding, patience, loyalty, love and many more, maybe that's why it's beloved relation in eyes of Allah, because you are willing to live with a stranger by keeping things halal only for Allah and not approaching your desires in haram way.
She prayed that the man Allah had already chosen for her, will come as a rahma, as mercy of Allah in her life and not as a test.
