Part Sixty-Six
"Asad no!" Haider pushed him as he threw another punch at Akram.
"You cannot assault him!" Vaqaar and Vishal held him back.
"Let them do their work, control yourself, okay?" Haider spoke.
"They won't leave you until you agree to stay calm" He added. Asad was glaring at Akram who was wincing due to the punches.
"Okay?" Asad flashed his eyes at Haider, who returned it with equal favor. Asad ruefully relented.
"You are not going to hit him again, when they release you" Haider made his words clear. Asad gritted his teeth and nodded curtly.
"Release him" Haider ordered. They left him, Asad jerked away breathing heavily, he was seething watching Akram, finally he could land few punches on Akram.
Akram was wincing, his lower lip was bleeding, there was pain in his ribs, he had nothing against Asad, if he was in Asad's place , he wouldn't have stopped and punched the guy to death.
He scrunched his face, he opened his eyes and noticed something, he narrowed his eyes, as they got habituated to the dim light, his eyes widened as he noticed a black shadow holding a rifle in his hands, he noticed the rifle moved, the target was shifted and where it was pointed, Asad was the target.
"Let's move in" Haider said.
"You go ahead, I will come later" Asad slightly pushed Haider away. Haider sighed understanding Asad was upset with him. He couldn't go against his rules just to let Asad beat pulp out of Akram. He needed him to be conscious to answer the questions. They needed him to find his partner.
"Come in when you have calmed" He said and moved ahead, everything happened so quickly, Akram freed himself from Fareed and ran past Haider, he grabbed Asad's collar and then collapsed on road with Asad.
Akram's white shirt was turning red as the blood oozed from his neck. Asad pushed Akram's body on road and sat up, his heart was beating hard in his rib cage as he noticed Akram had closed his eyes. The cops quickly covered them with their guns pulled out.
"Are you okay Asad?" Haider asked as he looked around for the shooter, the shooter must have a silencer on the his weapon that's why they didn't hear the bullet shot.
"Yeah" Asad managed to utter, Haider saw silhouette of someone on the building which was now backing away.
"That building!" He shouted.
"Take him to hospital" He shouted the order and ran in the direction of the building, Vishaal and Fareed ran behind Haider. Mayank started the car as Vaqaar with the help of Asad loaded Akram in the car and drove to hospital.
"Shit!" He gritted noticing it was Akram his bullet lodged into, but however he got the person down , he wanted to, he was quickly moving away as the officers surrounded Asad and Akram.
They were trying to figure out from where the bullet was shot, he quickly moved back, threw the rifle away and quickly got down the stairs to leave the building. He ran towards the back exit of the building and got in his car, driving off.
Haider reached the terrace of the building, he looked around, there was no one, he hadn't encountered anyone on steps, he was breathing heavily as he looked aound for the weapon, there he found a rifle with scope and silencer.
He kept back his gun in his usual hiding place, the gun holster on his leg, he took out a kerchief from his pocket and picked the rifle, he could smell the gun powder, it surely was the weapon that shot the bullet. He got alert as he heard footsteps, he turned to find Fareed and Vishal, they were panting.
