George Washington Bridge
Fort Lee, New Jersey
Joe: *driving on the George Washington Bridge into Fort Lee NJ*
Me: *listening to Devotion by Ten City*
Ernie: Looks like a storm is brewing, fellas!
Joe: Oh boy! This actually happened to me last summer, when I was the Giants Stadium! Deja Vu! *driving towards the New Jersey Turnpike*
Me: Thunderstorms are crazy around the Mid Atlantic!
Joe: You're telling me! The sky is getting even darker!
Ernie: Better hunker down!
Sign: Welcome To New Jersey New Jersey Turnpike
Me: *sees a lightning bolt* Just saw lightning!
Joe: Just saw it too, bud!
Ernie: *hears the loud thunderclap from the van* That's a big one!
Joe: Sure is!
Sign: Vince Lombardi Service Area 1 Mile
Joe: *sees the sideways lightning* These thunderstorms are nothing like back in Connecticut! *crossing the Hackensack River*
It starts to pour like crazy on the NJ Turnpike.
Joe: *puts the windshield wipers on and driving past the Vince Lombardi Service Area*
Me: Wow, just intense!
Ernie: Hope the turnpike doesn't become a river!
Joe: We're not too far from East Rutherford! *driving towards the toll booth*
The rain keeps falling, reducing visibility, making traffic on the NJ Turnpike come to a standstill. A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Bergen, Essex, Union, and Middlesex Counties in New Jersey.
Joe: Can't see anything!
Me: Me neither! *sees another flash of lightning*
Ernie: *hears another crack of thunder*
Joe: Should've stopped at that service area, when I had the chance!
Me: *sees a lot of cars with New Jersey license plates on the turnpike*
The song Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall by the Ink Spots comes on the radio.
Joe: This song couldn't have played at a bad time!
