Chapter 14: Out

Three weeks has passed since I last saw Alec. Since it's summer and we had no excuse to see each other, we have no choice.

We continued to be in touch with each other through texts and calls. But few days ago he only called once and texted me 5 times. After that, nothing. I haven't heard anything from him. Something's off. Never n'ya pang nagawa 'to sakin.

I kept reading our last conversation thinking if something was wrong. But we were actually doing okay, mas lalo akong kinakabahan kase wala akong makitang rason para hindi kami maging okay.

Nasa kwarto ako ngayon, nakahiga habang hawak ang cellphone ko. Thinking if I should call him or not. I don't want to, but I felt like I need to. I wanna know what's happening. This is bothering me so much, this is not like him.

Then something came up my mind. Wait, what do they call that? Uhmm— Omg! Don't tell me ito na yung part na GHOSTED na ako!? Oh, to the em, to the gee. I panicked at that thought.

I need to talk or call someone. Mababaliw ako sa kakaiisip. I go through my contacts ang found Nate's name. Immediately dialed his number, finally after three rings he picked up.

"Ba't antagal mo sumagot?" Inis na tanong ko sa kanya.

"Pasensya na po, natutulog po kase ako. Di ka na inform? ALAS DOSE na po ng madaling araw, Inform ko lang!"  Pabalang na sagot n'ya sakin. Bakas sa boses n'ya ang antok at halatang naiinis. Napatingin ako sa wall clock ko. Yep, 12 AM. Napasimangot ako.

"May chika kase ako eh" I sounded like a kid.

I heard him heavily sighed. "Anong problema?"

"Uhm... kapag hindi na nagparamdam yung taong palaging kausap mo ... uhm —"

"Ghosted ka girl." Diretso n'yang sabi.

I froze for a second. I breathe out and shut my eyes closed. Then I heard a hard laughed from the other line.

"Grabe ang advance n'yo, month of May pa lang, wala pang nobyembre na ghost ka na!" He said then continued laughing.

"Gago," I rolled my eyes.

"Kawawa ka naman mare," He teased and paused for a while. "Teka, legit? Ghosted ka?" Seryosong tanong n'ya.

I nodded and sighed in defeat. "Feeling ko. Yes, ghosted ako," Madrama kong sambit pero gusto ko talagang maiyak.

"Hala! Legit nga! Bakit?" Bakas sa boses ang gulat at pagkalito.

"Ganon ba yun? Pagkatapos n'ya akong sanayin? aalis s'ya bigla? Wala man lang notif? Walang kahit 'alis na'ko'? Sinanay ako ng dalawang taon tapos mawawala lang s'ya bigla?!" I sounded like a kid throwing tantrums. Wala ako pake kung mukha akong tanga, but Im completely annoyed and frustrated. Bakit bigla nalang hindi s'ya nagpaparamdam?

Nate was silent for a moment. Seconds later I heard him sighed.

"Tinawagan mo?" Tanong n'ya sakin.

"Hindi," umiling pa ako, akala mo makikita niya.

"Text?"

"Hindi rin."

"Chat?"

"Wala,"

I heard him breathe loudly, "Oh tapos? Paano mo nasabi?"

"Ilang araw na s'yang hindi nag te-text at tumatawag! Not even a goodmorning or hi!" I exclaimed out of frustration.
