Brad pulls away from the kiss first and I let out a whimper from the loss of contact. He smirks at my reaction and says "Would you like to go out sometime Kylie Irwin?"
"Um... yeah sure. I would just have to get away from my brother long enough. I know he wouldn't want me hanging out with you." I say.
"Of course. I'm sure you'll figure something out." He winks at me before taking my hand and leading us down the street.
"So tell me about yourself Kylie." He insists.
I proceed to tell him about my life back home and how I hated it. How nobody ever liked me except for Aubrey. And about my aunt and uncle who couldn't give a shit less about me.
"I'm sorry. That sounds rough." He says looking down at me.
"Yeah. So can I ask you something?" I ask.
"Well it depends on what." He says raising an eyebrow but keeps looking forward.
"Why were you guys fighting my brother and his friends?"
"Well Kylie, you see... There's only so much I can tell you about all of that. But I will tell you that they had it coming for a while now. Your brothers gang and my gang have a long history." He confesses.
I have so many things running through my head and I don't know which questions to ask first. I know that I have to think about all this before I ask something that I will regret, so I decide to keep my mouth shut. Some things are better left un-said and some things are better left unknown.
"Well here you are." He says and stops in front of my house. I really hope my brother hasn't made it home yet. He will literally shit bricks if he finds out I was with Brad.
"Okay thanks for walking me home." I say quickly and start to walk towards the house.
"No wait. I need your number so we can figure out a time to go out on our date." He says and I immediately turn around. I couldn't help the butterfly feeling in my stomach when he said the word date.
I hand him my cell phone after typing in my password and he does the same. I put my phone number in his contacts and he hands me my phone back as I finish.
"Alright goodnight Kylie." He smiles.
"Goodnight Brad." I say smiling back.
We go our separate ways and I rush back to the house. Thankfully the door was unlocked and I rush inside, closing the door lightly before turning around to meet Ashton and everyone else sitting in the kitchen. All their eyes are locked on me, including Aubrey's. Did she tell them what we were doing? Shit.
"Hey doll. Where the hell were you?" Ashton says, clearly upset but trying to keep his cool at the same time.
"I... uh.. was just um..." I start to say but can't find an excuse.
"You were what?" Ashton presses.
"She just went to the library. I asked her to go for me. There was this book I really wanted and I wasn't feeling well." Aubrey rushes to say.
"Okay then where's the book?" Ashton questions raising an eyebrow.
"It was closed." I simply say and shrug.
"Just don't go out at night anymore. I told you not to once and I don't wanna have to say it again. It's not safe." Ashton says.
"Alright give the girl a break. She just went to the library. She's here now and she's perfectly safe." Calum says to Ashton.
