"Kalin what are you doing for Christmas this year?", Serena's dad asked as the two sat at the kitchen table. Serena took the cookies out of the oven, and opened the cabinet for some glasses. "Um, well my mom kind of goes all out for Christmas", Kalin says with a bright smile, "Since my dad isn't really around, she likes to make it special for my little sister Alexsis.". Serena poured milk into 3 glasses and set the cookies and milk on the table. "Now they're a little burnt but you guys will eat them ok", she said laughing. Kalin gave Serena the same warm stare he always gave her and she blushed, her face turning a light shade of red. "Well if you're not too busy, you should stop by Christmas Eve, Serena's mom and friends are visiting from Tennessee so we're having a small party", Serena's dad said to Kalin. "Of course, I would love too, I'll definitely make some time to stop by" he replied. Serena could feel kalins hand rest on her left thigh underneath the table. She shifted in position as Kalin continued, "I'll bring dessert" he said chuckling. Serena's dad took a cookie and got up from the table, as Kalin quickly removed his hand, causing Serena to laugh to herself. "I'm gonna go to bed gotta be up early tomorrow for work-" Serena's dad started before Serena cut him off, "Dad no!! You promised we'd start the tree!", Serena pleaded. Her dad sighed, "We can do it tomorrow?".
"We can't, it's cam's birthday remember?? I'm not home!", Serena said argumentatively. Her dad opened his mouth to refute before Kalin suggested his help. "How about me and you do it?" Kalin said turning his head towards Serena, flashing his infamous crooked smile. Serena felt as if she was gonna faint, forgetting what it felt like to receive that smile from him. "So it's settled, love you s, not too loud ok", Serena's dad said as he made his way up the stairs. Serena laughed, "ok this a rule, no more using that smile".
"Hmm? What smile?" He said while flashing it once more. "You're such a dork" Serena said as she grabbed his hand, "come, help me with the boxes, they should be in the garage".
"Wait", Kalin said pulling her close to him. "For what?" She said smiling realizing what he wanted. She stood on her tip toes as he leaned down to kiss her on the cheek, "just thought I'd tell you that you look really cute when you get all argumentitive" he whispered. Her cheeks turning pink she grabbed his hand and lead him to the garage, "well thank you mr.white".

They began to take the garland out of the boxes and hang it around the tree. "Why do people do this stuff? Or how do they do it for fun", Kalin said laughing. Serena disregarded his question, "hey, was your mom cool with letting you stay the night last night?" Serena asked. "Yeah, she didn't care, just surprised your dad wanted me to stay.", Kalin said back laughing. Serena turned back to examine the purplish-blue color printed around Kalins right eye, "well yeah, I can't believe Tyler hit you", Serena said finally. "well I mean I guess I deserved it", Kalin said shrugging. "Hey, don't say that", Serena said sitting down on the couch, taking a break from decorating, "Tyler had no reason to hit you, he should've minded his own business, it had nothing to do with him".
"Tyler has always been closer to Myles than me, it was only expected, it's just you know what surprised me the most?" Kalin said while hanging gold glittered ornaments around the tree
"What?" Serena asked observing Kalin. She loved to pay attention to him when he didn't have his guard up. Kalin barely spoke, and when he wasn't awfully rude he was this new person. This person Serena couldnt help but adore. He gets this twinkle in his eyes and it's like you could hear his passion for what he's talking about through his voice. "Myles" He said, breaking Serenas trance. "I didn't know he had it in him", he continued. "Hey things will get better" Serena said kissing him on the cheek. He flinched as Serena realized she kissed his right cheek, "I'm so sorry!!!!!" She said with her hand over her mouth. "It barely hurt, calm down loser" he said smiling while pointing to the tree before continuing, "waaaaaaalla".
"Put the switch in", Serena said pointing to the outlet. Kalin rolled his eyes and plugged it in as the tree glowed with lights and glitter. "Who knew decorating a Christmas tree could be so fun", Kalin said picking up Serena bridal style. She laughed, "Are you Christmas af?". He looked at her in confusion, "did you really just say that". Tears of laughter were falling out of her eyes as she shook silently of laughter in his arms, "I had too" she said finally. He gave her the stare as their eyes locked. "It's beautiful" she continued. He wiped a tear off of her face with his free hand as Serena stared into his twinkly emerald eyes before kissed her with passion, "I'd bet on my life it's not as beautiful as you though".

They both passed out half way into a Charlie Brown Christmas movie, after Serena insisted on watching it. Kalin woke up with a fluffy pink throw blanket covering him and pillows on all sides of him. Looking at the Christmas reminded him of where he was and last night. He smiled as he reached for his phone, "1 pm" it read at the top of the screen.
The smell of pancakes filled his senses as he looked back at the kitchen. Serena's long hair dangled down from the back as she flipped a pancake in the air. "Impressive" Kalin said from the couch. "Oh yanno" she said smirking at him with a devious smile. Kalin came up from behind her and held her from her waist. "Kalin these pancakes are burnt" she said while laughing. "I'm an imposter, I only appeared to make it look like I know what I'm doing".
Kalin laughed with her, then kissed her on the cheek, "that's ok, I'm actually gonna go home to take a shower and get ready for tonight, but I will pick you up at 5?". Serena turned around quickly and nodded then stood on her tip toes as he leaned down for a kiss, "see you then" Serena said.
