Song of the Chapter:
Hitta- Hucci

It was 5 am and Jake had no idea where his brother was. It was unusual for his responsible brother to have behaved this way, he usually calls when he stays out late. Worriedly, Jake dialed Myles's number for the millionth time only to hear the same words, "you have reached 510-", the operator began to say before Jake shut the phone. 'Where the hell are you Meelz', Jake thought nervously.

Savannah tossed and turned as the conversation she had earlier replayed over and over in her head. Throwing the comforter off aggressively she ran to open the closed window, hoping she would feel a little less suffocated from overthinking. "Savannah are you okay?", Amanda wearily asked half awake from the bed. "Yeah I'm good", Savannah lied, "go back to bed manda". Amanda nodded then fell into a deep sleep, leaving Savannah alone with her thoughts.

"Serena throw that damn thing out the window or turn it off, it's driving me crazy", her dad demanded from across the hall. Sleepily Serena reached for her phone that was set beside her on her side table. '61 unread text messages from Kalin White' it read at the top, followed by, '29 missed calls'. With her eyes barely open she managed to put her phone on silent. Unable to muster enough courtesy she ignored Kalin as she closed her eyes and soon fell back asleep.

Kalin paced back and forth around his room. 'How hard is it to answer the damn phone Serena?', he thought to himself angrily. His first reaction to what Savannah had said earlier was to go to her house but he knew that wouldn't resolve anything. However, sitting here wasn't doing anything for him either. Filled with rage and emotion, he acted on pure impulse as he grabbed his keys and sprinted out his room.

"Myles if you don't get your ass off my lawn, I'm gonna make you wish you had", Kalin said through gritted teeth as he spotted his 'best friend' sitting underneath a tree. With no response back from him but a sullen stare, Kalin moved closer, "have you been drinking?", he questioned, his anger now replaced with concern, noticing Myles was acting a little strange. "What does it matter to you? Huh? Not like you give a shit about me?", Myles shouted as he got up and made his way towards Kalin. "Woah back it up, calm down", Kalin advised while trying to place a hand on Myles's shoulder. Myles jerked back then threw a punch,
aiming directly at the side of Kalins face. Successfully reaching his target, Myles almost immediately regretted his actions, in slow motion the sound of Kalins jaw popping, and his scream agonized Myles. He watched his best friend helplessly fall, his head hitting the cement floor with full force followed by a loud thud.

"K-k-... Kalin?", Myles shakily asked while tears unconsciously fell from his eyes. The sight of the puddle of blood that surrounded Kalins head, and the fact that he wasn't responding left Myles in shock. Unable to move or talk or even breathe, Myles stood there completely frozen.
"Kalin, what do I do?", he finally managed to say in between sobs, "wake up". Without a reply Myles ran, he ran as fast as his legs allowed him to do, 'this isn't real', he kept repeating to himself as his best friend laid in the middle of the street.
