"Salute, salute", the speakers in the school gym thudded as the base dropped. The day was finally here, it was Winter Formal. Mikalah, Cam, and Lyla held a table for the rest of their friends to arrive. The music was blasted, lights were flashing, and the night had only begun.
Mikalah exchanged looks with Cam as Lycia made her infamous entrance to the dance with Jake. Cam slightly rolled his eyes before looking to his right, making sure Lyla was alright. To their relief she hadn't even noticed, instead she had her head down, texting someone really fast. "Lyla did Serena tell you when she was coming?", Mikalah asked her over the loud music. "Um yeah she said she's just waiting on Kalin, he's late or something I don't know I could barely hear her over the phone", Lyla answered.

'Holy shit', Myles thought to himself as Amanda walked down her stairs. "Pictures! Pictures!", her mom squealed as she gently pushed Myles towards the bottom of the stair case. Amanda blushed, her whole face slowly changing into a deep shade of red, "Mom, stop", she said softly. Myles shook his head, "No it's ok", he said smiling brightly, "moments like these past by in seconds, let's make sure this one lasts". Amanda nodded as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "1, 2, 3", Amanda's mom said before capturing the moment.

Savannahs mom zipped the back of her dress up as her sister sprayed another spritz of hairspray on her long blonde hair. In a hurry she strapped her shoes on and grabbed her sparkly silver clutch from off the bed, seconds before the doorbell rang. Having some doubts about going with Tyler to the dance, Savannah wasn't sure she had made the right choice.
Tyler's eyes widened as he saw her make her way to him. With her long pink dress, straight long blonde hair, and blue eyes she truly looked like a barbie doll. "You look beautiful Savannah", he said to her discomfort. "Thanks Ty, you're honestly my favorite friend", she started in attempt to get her message across, "shh, don't tell Amanda", she said again with a smile, hoping she didn't hurt his feelings.

Amdanda felt like her legs were going to fall off from having danced so much. "Can we take a break", Amanda said laughing as Myles nodded while still dancing. "Actually im gonna go out and call Kalin really quick, he should have been here by now", Myles said with a sudden worried look on his face. Amanda took a seat by her best friend while Myles made his way outside. Punching Kalins number into his keypad, Myles waited for an answer. "You have reached the voice mailbox of number, 510-", the operator stated before myles pressed end. 'Where the hell is he!?', Myles thought angrily. They were supposed to preform today and Kalin was almost an hour and half late.

Serena sat on the foot of her porch, still waiting on Kalin. "Are you sure you don't wanna ditch him?", Cara asked innocently. "No he'll come", Serena said determined. "Ok", Cara said unconvinced, "call me if you need anything", she said again with a warm smile before she got in the car. With the sound of her engine roaring away, Serena slowly felt the cold silence creeping in on her, allowing bad thoughts to fall into place. 'He wouldn't forget about me', she thought as she texted him for the millionth time.

"Hey guys it's, Kalin and Myles", both Myles and Kalin said to the loud group of teenagers that were crowded around the stage, "let's get it", Kalin said before the beat dropped and the crowd went wild. Jake was dj'ing for them, and even though this was the first time they'd ever performed in front of people, they killed it.

Upon them finishing Kalin opened a water bottle left on one of the tables and spilled it over his head, shaking off any extra water. "You're such a dog", Savannah said with a chuckle, startling him. "And what brings you back stage", Kalin said back to her. "My date is my best friend that I think is starting to like me", Savannah said bluntly. "Say no more", Kalin said back laughing. However, something in the way his tone of voice was, and the way he laughed struck to Savannah that he wasn't okay. "Kalin where's Serena?", she asked realizing she wasn't here. This question took him by surprise as he frantically grabbed his belongings, "She said she wasn't feeling well", he said to her with eyebrows creased together before quickly leaving back to the dance.

Amanda waited patiently for Myles at the back door of the stage. "You were amazing Meelz!", she squealed excitingly when the door opened. "Thanks Manda", he said with a smile before pulling her into a tight hug. 'Nows the time', he thought, 'just lean in and kiss her'. Upon pulling out of their hug Myles's heart ran at 100mph thinking of a way to just kiss her, when out of no where, he felt Amanda's lips pressed up against his. They kissed for about a minute before Amanda pulled away, "You were taking too long", she said with a small smile, her cheeks as red as an apple.

It had been six hours after receiving no text or call back from Kalin when Serena decided to go back inside. She was cold, and had cried enough to fill a small pond, when she heard a car pull up into her drive way. "Do you trust me?", Kalin said getting out of the car. She stared back at him in disbelief when her phone vibrated, Serena knew exactly who it was. As more tears fell from her wide eyes she opened the text, hoping she could get some sort of explanation.
