After slumly applying mascara Lyla lifelessly tied her hair up. When she looked in the mirror she could barely recognize who she was. She hadn't left her house, eaten, laughed, or smiled since Monday. Tomorrow was winter formal and mikalah to go. After days of begging and pleading Lyla finally agreed. They were getting their dresses today, and she was in serious regret of saying yes. The last thing she wanted wanted was to go to a mall full of judgey people from school, or worse, bumping into Jake. A honk from outside startled Lyla as she grabbed her wallet and phone, shutting her room door behind her. She smiled at Mikalah as she opened the car door, pretending to be prepared for whatever was too come.

"Thanks for meeting me up", Myles said with a cheesy smile. The two were sitting in his car in the parking lot of a recording studio. Serena recognized the studio as Myles and Kalin would always take her. Of course Kalin never sang to her. He would just sit there and be on his phone, radiating cold vibes, with the exception of that one time, with even then, he was unaware of it. However Myles was always excited to take her, showcasing his amazing rap game.
"Serena?", Myles said to her, snapping her out of her deep thoughts. "Look Myles, I know what you're going to say", Serena cut him off, getting straight to her point, "and all I'm going to say is don't say it.", she said blankly. A confused expression spread across his face, "Serena what are you saying?", he asked. "I'm saying, I like you too, I cannot believe that it just came out of my mouth, but yes, there I said it, I like you, ok? But we can't, I mean we won't make anything of it. I love Kalin, you have a thing with Amanda going on, and no matter how much I like you, nothing can happen ok?", Serena said back to him, the words coming out of her mouth so fast it was hard to keep up with them. Myles stared back at her with shock. "Why are you staring at me like that?", she questioned. "Serena I had no idea you liked me", Myles stated, "I called you over here because I got a text from someone that's really been messing with all of us, this person has something against me and they're using it to blackmail me, they told me to break you and Kalin up so I texted you to meet me up like that only to make it out like I was causing stuff between you two", Myles explained. All the blood in Serena's body rushed to her head as she realized she had just confessed her infatuation to him when in reality all he wanted to do was discuss their stalker. 'Where is my life going?', she thought to herself, internally laughing sarcastically at the fact that she really did have a real life stalker. Her phone vibrated, causing both Myles and Serena to jump a little in their seats. She shakily unlocked her phone to a text from Kalin,

Some shopping trip to me? And wow Mathew and Cara look a lot like Myles.

"Who is it?", Myles asked concerned, noticing her eyes getting watery. "Who do you think Myles", she said back furiously, placing her phone in the palm of his hand. He read it, then opened the attachment up to a picture of him and Serena in his car, which made him instantly regrett his plan, "Serena, I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen", he said truthfully. She pushed her tears back and took a deep breath, "you didn't do anything Myles, it's her, whoever this person is", she said looking into her rearview mirrors paranoid, when her phone vibrated once more.

"Do you feel any better?", Mikalah asked Lyla who had a unconvincing smile on her face. "Yeah, I love my dress, and I didn't bump into anyone too annoying", she asserted. "I don't know if I believe you", Mikalah said laughing a little as she bit the straw that came with her Jamba Juice. Lyla was explaining what she was going to do with her hair when Mikalah spotted Lycia and Jake from across the food court holding hands. 'Crap', she thought to herself, 'I have to get her out of here'. Lyla could tell Mikalah was in a world of her own as she looked distracted, staring at something behind her. Lyla turned around to see what her friend was staring at, and realized no matter how well she thought she was prepared, she wasn't and never will be prepared enough too see him with someone other than her.

"Kalin just let me in", Serena pleaded, leaning against his door. With silence on the other side Serena laughed, "if you don't let me in, I'm guessing I have to break the door". The silence continued for awhile longer before Serena caught a laugh from him. The door knob turned open unexpectedly causing Serena to almost fall on the floor. Almost meaning, Kalin didn't let her fall. "Kalin, can we talk?", Serena asked. "No need, Myles already explained it all to me before you came over, were good", he said with a small smile. Serena let out a large sigh of relief. Last thing she needed with her best friend going through complete boy hell was for her to be going through it at the same time. "Love you Kalin", Serena said staring up at him. He looked down to her, "love you too", he mumbled with a smile. Serena knew something was up. He only acted this way when he does something stupid and doesn't know how to deal with it. 'Typical Kalin', Serena thought to herself with frustration. "Are you okay?", she questioned as he walked past her, "Yeah I'm good", he answered in a hushed voice. "Hope we're being honest", she said, following him downstairs. "We are", he lied.
