" I truly believe that everything that we do and everyone that we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents; we're all teachers - if we're willing to pay attention to the lessons we learn, trust our positive instincts and not be afraid to take risks or wait for some miracle to come knocking at our door. Right. We took the right path. I think that's quite ironic given the current circumstances. My breathing hitches for a second. I'm not ready ready to do this alone.
" Hey, Ashy. You okay? " Jonathon looks over at me as we walk down the hallway.
To be completely honest with you, I'm terrified. I usually have Taylor by my side keeping me safe. Never have I had to go through this alone. But then again we've never been caught.
This time was different. It felt different too, in this weird sense I felt as if these next few hours were important. Now maybe I'm just being paranoid.
" Ash are you about to throw up because lord knows I'm not equipped to do that. These hands aren't made for cleaning. " He says jokingly trying to cheer me up.
Snap out of it Ash , Taylor needs you. He could be somewhere hurt. You need to get out of here.
" I'm fine Jay. Let's go meet the creepy old guy." I give him a small smile.
He grins and shakes his head. " This should be good. "
As we walk down the long stretch of hallway we pass by a exit door. Perfect I smirk already forming a plan.
" Don't even think about it. " With looking back at me he says. Well damn him. I've known him for less than a day and he already knows me. I call bull.
" No clue what your talking about. " Scoffing he shakes his head. " So you weren't thinking about leaving?"
I stick my tongue out at the back of his head. There was no way in hell this man was stopping me. Before I know it we arrive at the room.
" Ladies first. " Jonathan stands aside as I cautiously peek in. " There's nothing in there Ashlynn. "
I scoff at that. Yeah right. " You never know. "
The room is way bigger than what I originally assumed. In the center of the room is a large circular table, a conference table I guess. Off to the side is a desk cluttered with paper. Just below it is a mini refrigerator. Hehehe bingo.
" Now sit. I'll be back in a few, some papers I have to grab for you. Can you be good for 15 more minutes? " He asks with a smirk. I take a seat at the conference table putting my feet up at the table I shrug.
" Depends on when my food gets here. " I say with a smirk of my own. A bitch is hungry.
" Finee Ms. Difficult what would the queen like? " He asks with a grin. I shake my head smiling.
" Chinese food would be great right now. "
" That shit is expensive as hell. " He grumbled. I stuck my tongue out at him. He shook his head smirking.
" I'm going to be back soon you better be here. Understand? " I frown up at him.
" What about my food? "
" I'll call you later to see what you want. " I roll my eyes. I need it now. Not later damnit.
" Fineee. " With one last look at me he exits from the room. Looking around the room I see the typical office materials. My eyes run across a phone and I can feel the grin spread clear across my face.
It was a long shot but maybe, just maybe Taylor got away and still has his phone.
Glancing behind me at the door I walk over behind the desk and take a seat in the large chair.
Dialing the number I hold my breath as my heart beats hard.
" Who the hell is this?" My breathing hitches. This wasn't my Taylor. Something was wrong.
" Where's Taylor? " My head pounds as I hear the man chuckle. My heart skips a beat. It was deep and sensual. Wait. Why the hell am I thinking about that.
" I think the better question is why are you in my office? "
" Son of a bitch you're the old creepy sheriff." I grow angry thinking about Taylor. I have to get out of here.
" You listen here Sheriff. I don't know how , but I am going to find Taylor. And I'm going to make you wish you were never born if you hurt him. " With that being said I hang up not in the mood to hear what he has to say.
Now to get out if this place. Just as I stand up the door knob turns and opens..
