"hey lily!" carson acknowledged me. he was part of the football team.

"hi." i muttered under my breath, deciding not to look at him.

he chuckles. "do ya wanna go out to the winter formal with me next week?" he asks, his eyes twinkling like a 4 year old child seeing a massive scoop of ice cream.

i shook my head. "no thanks." i say and leave him confused back at my locker.

i didn't even get the chance to put my things there. i was probably the first girl he tasted rejection on.

but hey, there's a first time for everything, right?
