"Alright everyone, go wash up then go to sleep! We're going to wake up early tomorrow morning to go home," Coach yells to everyone after dinner.
"Haiii," everyone responds then walks away. After you finish washing up and dressing into your pjs, you hear a ring from your phone.
From: Oikawa Toru
Hey, are you able to come out and talk? I'm outside of your place.
Your eyes widen and you look around.
To: Oikawa Toru
I'm coming out right now.
"Hey, Mira-chan, I'm going to take a quick breather. I'll be back in a bit," you say to your friend who is packing her stuff.
"Okay, don't take too long. I'll tell the other girls," she says as you nod. You walk out of your guys' room and towards the entrance to see Oikawa leaning against the wall of the building.
"Why'd you come so late, Toru? It's already 9:00pm. Don't you have school tomorrow?" you ask as he stands up.
"Yeah, that's exactly the reason why I can't come tomorrow to see you off. Plus... I wanted to talk to you some more before you leave, F/n-chan," he looks down at you and smiles.
"What do you mean?"
"F/n-chan, it might not make sense to you, but it's kind of hard to act normally when you just appear out of nowhere after disappearing for almost two years. You're my best friend and... I haven't seen you for so long," Oikawa manages to spill. You frown and touch his arm.
"I'm sorry, Toru. I didn't realize. I understand it must've been surprising and hard."
He smiles and grabs your hand on his arm then holds both of your hands. This takes you by surprise; Oikawa was always into skin-ship but this was different and out of nowhere. Just a few minutes ago, the Miya twins had another argument which led to Atsumu wanting to go outside to take a breather to calm down. When he comes out, he happens to see you and Oikawa holding hands.
'What are they doing? Why is he here?' Atsumu frowns and feels his head heating up even more.
"It's okay, F/n-chan... But, I need to tell you something important," Oikawa says, which catches Atsumu's attention.
"What is it, Toru?"
Oikawa takes a deep breath and his heart is beating harshly against his chest.
'Should I really do it right now? Is this the right time?' he asks himself and feels his whole body sweating against the cool wind.
Atsumu turns his hands into fists and feels himself shaking for what's about to happen.
"F/n-chan... I just wanted to tell you that," Oikawa stops when he sees your face and sighs.
"You're a very special person to me," he puts one of his hands on your head, "and I never want to lose you again."
'I couldn't do it.'
Atsumu feels his body relaxing a little.
You smile at your childhood friend, "Of course, Toru. You never lost me; you're a special person to me too. Don't ever worry about losing me again. I won't ever do that to you again because you're my dear best friend."
Oikawa feels his heart break a little but can't help but smile at how genuine you are.
"I know, F/n-chan," Oikawa looks behind you to see Atsumu and frowns when they both make eye contact.
They both stare at each other until Oikawa smirks and pulls you into a hug.
"Let's see each other soon, F/n-chan. I will miss you so much! Text and call me everyday!!" Oikawa says into your hair.
"I will miss you too, Toru. I will try to contact you! Get back safely and stay safe while I'm gone. Take care of your team and yourself," you smile into his shoulder.
You take in his scent and reminisce about the memories you had with Oikawa.
'I really did miss him,' you think and smile.
The hug then breaks and he caresses your cheek one last time before waving and leaving you. Once Oikawa's fully out of sight, you turn around to see Atsumu.
"What are you doing here, Atsumu?" you ask.
Atsumu awkwardly rubs his neck, "I just wanted a breather then saw you and Oikawa."
You frown and walk past him, "Use honorifics for you senpai, Atsumu. You need manners." Atsumu feels an arrow go through his head.
"Well, he acts like a five year old. So what can I do?"
"You act like a five year old too," you smirk as he pouts and whines. When you see him pouting you chuckle, 'cute.'
"You know, you both are actually very similar," you comment as he stops his pouting.
Atsumu frowns, "That's an insult."
You laugh, "No, it's not. Toru's an amazing person and so are you. I'm glad to know you both and have two amazing friends."
Atsumu feels his heart crack, 'FRIENDS.' You then put a hand on his arm.
"And I'm really thankful for you both."
Atsumu can't help but feel lighter when he sees how genuine and happy you look when you say that. He then smiles.
"Of course. Anything for you, F/n-chan," he smiles and places his hand on your head which causes you to blush at the sudden interaction.
'Why is he making me feel uneasy?' you feel your heart beating quick.
"Goodnight, F/n-chan. I will see you tomorrow," Atsumu winks then leaves you behind as you stand there still in shock.
