"Is there anything I can bring to you? A cup of coffee? Some tea?"
"No thanks..." Taeyong said and as the girl was about to sit on a chair he continued. "Actually Yumi...can you bring me a glass of water?"
"Oh sure." Yumi said and immediately stood up.
"Thank you." Taeyong exclaimed, smiling softly.
It felt strange to him. How his sister was so hospitable and welcoming to him. There was a small possibility she didn't remember about what he had done. Maybe it was better like this, but Taeyong had to tell her. She would find out sooner or later after all.
"There you go." She said and placed the glass on the table.
"Thank you." Taeyong announced once again.
After that both of them fell silent. It wasn't a comfortable silence, the atmosphere was tense and you could tell that both of them wanted to speak. Unheard questions and silent answers flooded all around.
"So..." Yumi decided to speak. "It's been very long if I'm not being mistaken right?" She asked doubtfully, scratching the back of her neck.
"Yeah, it actually is." Taeyong answered while laughing awkwardly.
A moment of silence followed again.
"I guess..." Taeyong spoke. "You don't remember anything about me...judging from your reaction earlier."
"Ah no it's not like that." The girl said. "It's just...I remember the moments but...I didn't have a face to match them with."
That sounded strange. How could this be possible?
"Mother threw away most of your photos." Yumi continued, as if she read his mind. "So I really couldn't recall how you looked like."
"I see..." Taeyong said quietly and faced the ground before looking at Yumi again. "Hmm..." He hummed. "If I'm not mistaken you must be around...18 years old by now? You celebrated your birthday this July right?"
The girl visibly smiled. "How do you still remember these things?"
The man laughed. "How can I not, even if you weren't that young you acted so immature and wanted me to always hug you...even when you were 10 years old you still wanted-"
"HEY STOP!!" The girl shouted and patted his shoulder playfully, showing him that she felt embarrassed.
But her brother didn't care and just continued saying: "Oh, also I remember when it was you 9th birthday and you said 'Taeyong I'm finally old enough to marry a prince. Now I can become a princess and rule this kingdom!' " He said in a high pitched voice, mocking his sister.
"Taeyong you're embarrassing." She hid her face behind her hands and the man laughed.
He stopped laughing and looked her with sadness in his eyes. "Yumi...how comes you live alone in such a young age?" He asked.
"Says you." She talked back.
"Tsk.." He sighed and smiled, looking down. "Do you know why I left?"
He hoped she didn't. Or if she did, he wanted her to know the real reason.
"You didn't like how your life was...am I right?" His sister asked and he faced her surprised. "Why do you seem so surprised?" She wondered and chuckled. "I told you I remember a lot of things Taeyong. You were a model, and you were bullied about that, I may was not able to understand what was happening back then but I can now...how long has it been...7 years?"
