It was early in the morning when Sicheng left his apartment. The strange phone call happened yesterday and it ended the way he actually felt most confident about:

~

"I'm not going to do it."

Sicheng said and felt his heart beating fast. His adrenaline was rushing, spreading all over his insides, making his body shake, more than before, if that was even possible. Would it be better to take back what he said? Was he going to regret later on his statement?

"Fine." Simon said.

And for a moment, Sicheng felt his past anxiety disappear. Maybe it was the right choice, to not do what Simon commanded.

"But you will have to face the consequences."

"I know." He answered sternly, feeling confident about his actions suddenly.

And the call ended. Just like that.

~

At first he was doubting whether he did the right thing or not, but now he was certain about his decisions. Nothing had happened so far so...that meant that Simon was an idiot.

Or vice versa.

Maybe Sicheng was the stupid one, to believe that Simon was going to betray his own rules, at his very own game.

The morning breeze caressed lightly his face, letting him feel a cold sensation every time it contacted his skin. He looked around the city. Would this be the last time he saw it? Would it be better to just kill his boss?

Sicheng bumped into someone, which caused him to return back to the tedious reality he was living.

"I'm sorry." The man he bumped into said.

"No I'm sor-" Sicheng was about to say, but stopped mid-sentence when his eyes fell on the person in front of him. "Taeyong?" He asked and smiled.

"Oh hey.." The man said and rubbed the back of his neck. "Long time no see?"

A chuckle left Sicheng's lips. "Yeah I guess...last time I saw you you were a little..." He paused for a split second. "Anxious? Angry?"

Taeyong laughed and looked down. "Ehm...yeah you could say that.."

"This reminds me of the day we first met." Sicheng announced, trying to change the subject.

"Oh yeah you're right!" Taeyong said. "We bumped into each other didn't we?"

Sicheng nodded. "So...how is this game going for you so far?" He asked.

Taeyong tried to control his feelings and not let them out. It was like everything stopped when he heard that question. He couldn't let Sicheng notice any weird behavior. "Hm...I don't know..." He said. "Not that bad so far I mean...I haven't done any mission yet." He smiled. He couldn't tell Sicheng that he did a mission and most importantly that he in fact killed someone.

"Is that so?"

"Y..yeah why would I lie?" Fuck. He stuttered. But tried to laugh it off, hopefully Sicheng wouldn't get suspicious of this.

"You're right." Sicheng smiled and Taeyong felt relieved. "I guess I will see you around Taeyong." If he wouldn't die anytime soon that is.

"See you later."
