DEMI'S P.O.V.:

I was having breakfast calmly at home, alone with my dogs when my phone went off by my side. It was my therapist Lola. I grabbed it and read the text she sent me.

Lola ~ hello Demi. I know you were supposed to be coming to therapy tomorrow but I decided to change your turn, so if you could come later today, that'd be awesome. I have some things to tell you about how your therapy will continue.

Demi ~ hello. Okay, I'll be there in the afternoon. See ya later

I sighed as I dropped my phone back on the table and glanced at Batman, who was watching me intensely from the floor. "Why do you look at me like that?". I asked him with a chuckle and he walked to me so I could pet him. "Hello baby". I said to him before standing up and checking if Ella was still sleeping. She was.

I have to admit, living alone wasn't the best thing I could think of the first week after Max and I broke up but, I had to move on. We're still "friends", which means we're in good terms but I don't see a comeback anytime soon, let alone later on. So, the first week living alone was obviously the hardest cause I had to deal with the heartbreak and all the homework alone. But I was doing much better now, a month later.

The rest of the day, I did what I usually do. Watch some tv, meditate, workout in the pool, take a sun bath, organize my schedule with Scooter while having lunch, and around 5 pm, I went to the therapy appointment.

I didn't even had to wait to enter Lola's room, cause there was no one but us and the receptionist in the building, which made me feel a little weird. She always had around 3 people more waiting for her, but now, there was no one else than me.

"Demi, come in. I'm glad you came." She told me as I stepped into the room and I closed the door behind me before greeting her back.

"Hey. Is something going on? Why there's no one else around?" I asked her and she gestured to the chair in front of her so I would sit there.

"Someone offered me a big opportunity in Washington and, right now, I think I wanna try there. That's why I called you today." She said and I nodded slightly.

"I guessed it would be something like that." She smiled and shrugged.

"But still, I wanna have pur last session together so...tell me. How have you been since last week?" I sighed and shrugged with one shoulder.

"As usual, I guess. There's people I still miss, there's work that stress the shit out of me and there are times when I just wanna stay in bed all day...but I have also good days when everything is brighter and I have fun throughout the day." She nodded taking notes and I continued. "So I'm like...taking one day at a time. Doing the most I can to be happy, but also respecting my mind when I have those rough days. Cause we know it's not sane to erase the sadness. Sometimes you just have to let it all out to get better."

"Yes, exactly. So, we could say you're doing fine right now." I nodded and she glanced at me."How are you taking the break up?" I smiled slightly at her.

"Well, I think the break up is the thing I'm taking the most well right now. I've had a ton shit of heartbreaks during my whole life and there has been times when I haven't even been able to get out of bed when I had a broken heart...so I'm happy about it." She nodded again.

"Maybe it's cause it was a more mature relationship that ended this time." I frowned.

"Yea, it could be but...I'm not like...super sure about it. I've had some serious and mature relationships that went to trash one day and I was there crying my heart out for like...months."

"Okay. I think you're doing fine Demi. Honestly, I've seen you improve a lot ever since you first came to me. But I also think there's a lot more work to do with your head to get you to a better point." I nodded slightly and she smiled. "Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep helping you with that...but I'd like to leave you in the hands of one of my friends that's gonna take my place here."

"Oh, okay. What's their name?"

"Her name's Claire. She's been one of my closest friend since high school. So, I thought it would be safe to leave you in her hands." I smiled to her and she smiled back at me.

"Well, if you trust her, I trust her. I'm gonna miss you tho." She smiled at me with teary eyes and we hugged each other through the desk.

"I hope you continue to accomplish a lot more of things like you've been doing ever since I met you." She said to me and I allowed myself to tear up. I really hated farewells, even if I wasn't friends with my therapist. I hated losing my "stable world". I used to feel lost whenever that happened.

"Goodbye, and just do your thing." I told her and she nodded briefly at me before I waved at her.

"Bye." Was the last thing she told me that day. I went home and allowed myself to be a little down for the rest of the day. I needed to get used to the idea of people being temporary in my life. That became my new goal in 2018 but I could never do it. I loved too much.
