He Never Showed Up

DEMI'S P.O.V.: I checked myself in the mirror for the third time and played with my hair a little until I felt like I was looking good. It was an important night for me. Hanging out with a boy was something I haven't done since I broke my engagement.

"I hope he likes me." I whispered and grabbed my purse before heading out of the house.

I asked Max to drop me in the bar Mike told me to meet and he did.

"You won't drink, right?" Max asked me and I smiled while shaking my head. "Okay, I trust you...call me if anything happens."

"I will, chill. And thanks for driving me here. Ser you later."

"See you." I walked out of the car and walked into the bar hoping to find Mike. After looking for him for some minutes I realized he wasn't around. Sighing, I sat on a stool of the bar and chose to wait for him there. After all, I was being punctual, maybe he got stuck in the traffic or something like it.

Suddenly, ten minutes late turned into an hour and half. I was tired of waiting, I was alone, sobre, sad and waiting for someone who wouldn't show up.

From Demi to Mike ~ hey, I waited for you but you never showed up. I'm going home, let me know if anything bad happened to you. Bye.

I sighed and started to maje my way out of the bar when someone called me.

"Demi?" I turned around and saw Joe walking to me.

"Joe...what a coincidence." He nodded.

"What are you doing here?" I gulped and shrugged.

"I had a date here but he couldn't make it so I'm gonna go back to my house."

"What? That's so sad...why don't you stay with us?" I frowned.

"Us?"

"I'm here with Jack, Jinjoo, Cole, Frankie and Nick."

"Oh, Nick's here?" I asked hiding a smile.

"Yeah, come with us, we're having fun."

"Uh, sure." We walked to their table and everyone smiled at me.

"Demi!" Jinjoo said and hugged me. I looked at everyone and Nick smiled at me.

"Sit with me?" He asked patting the seat beside him and I nodded before sitting there. "He already left?" Nick asked me in a whisper and I chuckled shaking my head.

"He never showed up."

"For real? He must be an asshole and a stupid man then, he lost his shot with you then...I suppose." I looked to my hands and shrugged.

"Uh, maybe...I'm not sure tho. What if he had something important going on and couldn't make it?"

"Uh, Dem...don't get me wrong but I think if he really cared he would've at least texted you." I gulped hard and nodded.

"You're right."

We both turned our attention back to the rest of the group and everyone had a nice time, even me. Being there with them, laughing, made me forgot about the rest of the fail night.

It was around 2 am when I noticed that Nick was probable drunk. He was laughing out loud with blushed cheeks and sparky eyes. I frowned and checked the rest of the group, everyone but him seemed fine.

I started to count the glasses and bottles on the table. Cole had two small bottles of beer, Jack only one, Jinjoo drank two glasses of whisky, Joe had a big glass of vodka and juice, I had a juice and Nick has two glasses of whisky and a bottle of beer.

"Hey." He told the waitress and he walked to us. "I want one of those." He said pointing to Joe's glass and I looked at Joe.

"He should't drunk that much." Joe frowned and chuckled.

"Just that glass and nothing more, but a small glass." He told the waitress and then looked at me. "It's been a while since I've seen him happy. I don't wanna ruin that for him today."

"But it could be dangerous." Joe caressed my head softly and smiled.

"Don't worry, we won't let anything bad happen to him. I promise." I nodded and he went back to the conversation while I just looked at Nick as he drank his drink all at once.

"Holy fuck, that was strong." He said to me and I chowed down on my lip. "Why that face?"

"I'm worried for you. You should't drunk as much as you do." He smiled and grabbed my upper leg softly causing me to suck on my breath.

"Don't think of me that much...I just wanna see you smile. Can I see that beautiful smile of yours?" I was confused with his words but it made me smile that he thought I had a beautiful smile. "Look, there it is. I love it, you know what? Everyone should know it."

"Know what?" He smiled and stood up on the seat. "Oh no, Nick sit down." I told him grabbing his leg and he shook his head smiling.

"Hey everyone! You all should know that my friend here with me has the most beautiful smile." Everyone laughed and I blushed hard. "And also you should know that I love to see her smile." He glanced at me and shook his head as his smile faded. "And I'm sorry."

"What?"

"I'm sorry cause you came here tonight waiting to see someone and-" He couldn't finish talking cause Joe literally pushed him to the floor causing him to shut up.

"Joe! What the fuck was that? You could've hurt him." I said in shock and he shrugged helping Nick to stand up.

"He'll thank me later." I frowned and he looked at Nick. "It's time to leave already. I can take him to mine tonight so you don't have to take care of him."

"No, don't worry...I wanna do it. You'll Let him fall again." Joe chuckled and nodded.

"Okay, he's all yours then."
