DEMI P.O.V.:
I woke up on tuesday and rolled in bed while stretching my body. I opened my eyes and saw Batman and Ella, both staring at me deeply in my eyes. I chuckled and pet them carefully.
"Hi babies." I whispered to them and they snuggled to me.
I covered them with my covers and we three just stayed there some minutes together watching nothing until I realized I had to get up from bed and get ready for the huge day I was supposed to have.
Tuesday, the horrible and scary, fucking tuesday. I was supposed to meet with Marissa in my therapy appointment. And that made me hella nervous.
I sighed and sat up in bed glancing at my dogs. "Do I really have to go?" I asked them and they titled they heads at me, making me chuckle. "I know."
After eating lunch, taking a short nap and taking a warm shower, I dressed up comfy and left my apartment to go to the building.
About 10 minutes later, I pressed the elevator button and breathed heavily. Was I ready for it? Probably not. Once I got to my floor, I walked quietly to the room and knocked on it.
"Come in." I heard Brenda said and I walked into the room.
"Hey." I said as I entered.
"Hello, how are you?" I titled my head.
"I'm pretty nervous actually." She nodded and I sat ready to start once Marissa arrived.
About three minutes later, there was a knock on the door and Marissa's face appeared into the room. I felt my heartbeats raising and gasped with nerves.
"Hello." She said quietly and sat in front of me.
"Hey." I whispered and gulped hard. I didn't want to admit it, but I did miss her.
"So, I'm gonna explain you how this works..." my therapist started and we heard everything she said with attention. "Okay, you can start now."
We glanced at each other deeply and couldn't hold our tears. So, we just broke down crying at the same time while my therapist just looked at us. We spent about 5 minutes just crying before staring to each other again.
"I'm sorry." Was the first thing the said to me after years of not talking. "I'm really sorry Demi." She had to take some seconds to dry her tears and then, nodded at me. "You were always the best friend for me, you gave me everything all the time...and I just kicked you out of my life when you started struggling the most...but I really am sorry." She said and we both started crying again.
"Can I, at least know, why did you kick me out of your life?" I asked her quietly and she sighed as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"I signed that stupid paper too. I was part of the plan of your team to take a step aside of the friendship if you ever relapsed...and I'm so sorry I did Demi but I...just wanted to help you. And they swore, they fucking swore you'd be better off without us to realize you needed help." I started sobbing and covered my face with my hands. It truly was unfair.
"I always suspected it." I whispered and I dried my tears. "But everyone made me think you left me once you couldn't get more money from me. They made me think you only wanted me cause I was rich and I just...I believed them." I said and she shook his head.
"Demi, that's impossible. You've always been one of the most important people in my life and when you...when you overdosed...I fell into depression. I felt like trash, a big piece of shit. I'm sorry I did all that to you. I should've been there with you, I should've helped you...but I failed. I failed cause I'm a terrible person." She whispered and I shook my head.
"I'm sorry for thinking you were capable of using me. I know who you are, I haven't forgotten you're the one that's always been by my side, I still remember every fucking time you held my hand when no one else did." She cried again and I chowed down on my lip as I felt tears rolling down my cheeks.
There was a moment of silence when we looked at each other again and we stood up simultaneously to melt into a tight and pretty much emotional hug. It felt fucking amazing to be hugging her again. I felt like all the time I spent away from her was just trash.
"I'm sorry Demi, you're my sister, you'll always be...I promise if you give me a second chance I'll be the best fucking friend of the entire world, I promise I will." She cried in my ear and I smiled widely before looking at her.
"I think it could work." I said to her and we chuckled before hugging again. "Let's just move on from all the shit we were put into." She nodded on my shoulder and we smiled at each other before glancing at my therapist, who was drying her tears too.
"I'm sorry girls, I just remembered my best friend...she died two years ago so...that's it." I nodded slowly and grabbed her hand.
"I'm sorry for your loss, must've been horrible to lose your best friend, and I know that first hand." She nodded at me and then smiled at us.
"But anyways girls, you did a very good job and I'm rooting for your friendship, it really seems genuine." We smiled at each other and nodded.
"It is." Marissa said and I nodded.
"You're free to enjoy the rest of your day however you wanna do it."
"Thanks." I said to Brenda and we walked out of the room. Once we were out, Marissa glanced at me and I smiled just before a thought popped into my head. "It's almost dinner time." She nodded and we glanced at each other.
"Pizza?" We asked at the same time and chuckled.
