Chapter : 19

Elsa stopped the car again, she took hope in her arms but Hope has already stopped crying.

I think she ain't liking the sound of the engine because I don't see any other reasons, I don't think she's hungry or sick *Mrs. Presley said*

Start the car again *Mrs. Presley told Elsa*

Elsa did what Mrs Presley said, the moment she started the car, Hope started sobbing again.
Elsa tried moving the car as slow as possible but it wasn't lucrative at all, Hope started whining again.

Elsa stopped the car and took the keys in her hands.

What am I supposed to do now? We are already late *Elsa said*

Try to make her fall asleep again *Mrs. Presley said*

Lil angel, why are you being an impish baby already? You're not sleepy now?*Elsa said politely while caressing Hope*

Hope started giving her little smiles which made both Elsa and Mrs Presley giggle.

Now, don't bother momma while driving be a good girl *Elsa said while carefully putting Hope in Mrs Presley's arms.

Elsa started the car again and that precious smile was already fading away from little Hope's face.

We cannot miss the flight, today baby,*Elsa said and started moving the car slowly towards the bridge*

The bridge was not more than 200m long and it was connected with the main road towards the Airport. As it was in the woods, people usually avoid it until something's crucial... results in less traffic.
The rain has stopped but the thunder sounds were still making the weather dark and unwelcoming.

We have to reach the Airport before it started raining again *Elsa said*

Just the moment before her car was about to reach the bridge she saw someone running towards her car.
That person was coming closer and closer and after a moment Elsa realised, it was a lady, without an umbrella, without any raincoat, face covered with her scarf, she has slowed down and started walking towards her car.

Who's her? What is she doing in the woods all alone *Elsa said suspiciously*

Don't worry I have pepper spray for moments like these *Mrs. Presley said while trying to keep Hope down to keep her away from that strange lady's sight*

Keep Hope safe, lemme handle this situation*Elsa said*

Excuse me, ma'am,*the lady knocked at the car's window*

Elsa opened the window of her car and tried to look at her face properly. As it was covered with her scarf, it was only possible to see her eyes.

May I help you?*Elsa asked her*

That lady was about to say something as her watch started beeping like an alarm.
Elsa looked at her but the lady stopped the beep sound quickly and said

"No...No... ma'am, I'm totally fine, my house is just a few steps away, I saw your car coming this way, so I thought of warning you"

Warning me?*Elsa looked at Mrs Presley*, warning me about what? *Elsa asked*.

This bridge, I think it's very old, I felt it was trembling when I was crossing it today, I was in my car and literally felt how badly it started shaking*that lady explained *

I was about to keep a warning sign here but saw your car coming from a distance*She said*

It could fall off any time, it's not safe to choose this way, I request you to take the regular route to the airport *She said*

What?*Mrs. Presley and Elsa said simultaneously in shock*

Oh thank God, you're a blessing in disguise*Elsa said politely and sighed *

I'm so sorry to say this but at first, we were a little scared when we saw you, you know, we're in the middle of the woods and your face is totally covered with that scarf of yours *Elsa said being embarrassed about how wrong they were about that lady*

The lady giggled and said
"Oh yes! I understand, don't worry about that, the good thing is you are safe now.

Wait, but how did you know that we are going to the airport?*Elsa asked her*

Well. I. I mean most of us chose this way to reach the airport quickly when we are late, in rush, you know *that lady said*.

Yeah in rush, I'm really thankful for your help, the consequences could've been really bad and scary, God knows how I'm feeling right now, you're an angel*Elsa said politely*

No problem ma'am, have a safe flight *that lady said*

Oh! I forgot we're getting late, I'm sorry and thank you so much again for helping us, God bless you *Elsa said in a rush*

It was my responsibility*the lady and turned away to go back to her house*

Hope baby *Elsa said*

Yeah?*that lady turned around*

No.nothing, I was calling my daughter, her name is Hope *Elsa said and smiled*

Oh! oh. I thought you said How, nice name, by the way, *that lady said*

Thank you. Thank you for saving us*Elsa said and smiled*

I had to*That lady smiled and walked away*

Elsa was looking at her as she was going away.
Oh! Let's not waste another second *Elsa said and turned her car back to the normal route as the weather was getting clear gradually*

Fortunately, she was not late, she checked into the airport and texted Sam the moment they boarded the flight before switching off her mobile.

Mrs Presley and Elsa closed their eyes as they were sleepy.

Don't you think Hope is really lucky for us *Elsa whispered*

She is for sure *Mrs. Presley said while caressing Hope*

That's why she was crying all the time she was not letting me drive through that bridge *Elsa said*

Just to save a little time, I risked our lives, Mrs Presley*Elsa said as her voice started trembling*

I wanna save my daughter that's why I decided to leave our home, to keep my daughter safe from those gunmen or any other trouble and today I could have ended it all in a moment just by driving through that bridge *Elsa said while sobbing*

Elsa, don't think of the things that didn't happen, don't think negative, that bridge was old, it was not even renovated for as long as I can remember but people were still using it.*Mrs. Presley said*

Thanks to that lady who came out of nowhere to help us, it's all about destiny Elsa, you two have to accomplish uncountable things in life. Don't think about the end, think about the positive and new beginning*Mrs. Presley said politely*

Thank you Mrs Presley for.. for everything*Elsa said before again closing her eyes to sleep*

Elsa's Pov: May God bless that lady. From now on I'd be more careful and I promise you Hope I'll do anything and everything to keep you safe. I will leave this old Elsa here and from now I'm gonna be a new lady, a Mom, a teacher and someone who won't shed a tear ever again over small things.
